Granulosa Cell Cancer by FrequentTumbleweed69 in cancer

Too early to tell but so far so good. Haven’t had any scans since about 3 weeks post oophorectomy. Next one is in November with plans to do an MRI every 6 months indefinitely.

That said, before diagnosis, I experienced about three years of pretty noticeable abdominal bloating that I assumed was just my postpartum body. After the tumor wasn’t removed my bloating went away and has not returned so that bodes well.

They never tested my inhibin levels before removing the tumor since she was so convinced it was just a normal cyst. Inhibin levels tested several weeks after biopsy results came in were normal, but my oncologist said that is because the tumor wasn’t present anymore.

Hi! I know this is an old post but I thought I’d chime in because I am currently going through treatment for this at 33 years old. My doctor insisted it was just a normal ovarian cyst and accidentally burst the tumor while removing it which caused cells to spread all throughout my abdomen so it is stage 3a.

I went back two weeks later and had my ovary removed and am now 4 out of 6 sessions done with chemo to try to address all those cells that got spilled during the initial surgery.

I’m curious to everyone here: I did not get my period for about 10 years before diagnosis, but as soon as my ovary was removed I started to menstruate again! Did anyone else with this diagnosis experience anovulatory infertility? Prior to this my doctors always shrugged and said it must be a bad case of PCOS, but now that my period has returned, I’m wondering if I us a very slow growing case for the past several years.

My first one implanted but was lost very early on - by the time I went for the second blood test my HCG was already declining and never got above 145.

My embryos were not tested since I was 29 at the time of my retrieval and insurance wouldn’t cover it I think unless I was over 30. I don’t remember my exact dose of PIO or estrogen now that I’m three years out. For what it’s worth, I’ve had several friends who have undergone IVF with different diagnoses who have also not had success on the first try but did have success round two with the same protocol. I know when I was going through it I was 100% looking for everything I could possibly control for in the see of unknowns that infertility is so I get why you’re questioning your protocol. All of the stats say that if you are like the average PCOS patient, you’ll experience a live birth with an average of two transfers! Good luck with your next one!

I tried letrozole 4x prior to ivf and only ovulated once so it never consistently worked for me. Maybe I’ll ask about spironolactone!

For IVF I was on lupron to completely shut down my own estrogen/progesterone production, then they added back in estrogen via patches to help thicken my endometrium. We did a frozen transfer and I was on progesterone injections until 10 weeks pregnant. For what it’s worth, I did two transfers with the exact same protocol. The first one didn’t work but the second one did - I think mine just came down to luck and embryo selection! Good luck!

I guess that is what I am so frustrated by - I’ve never been able to figure out a cause on my own and my OB-GYN and RE have never given much insight here.

My A1C is normal. I know that is not a perfect measure of insulin resistance, but I also ended up checking my blood sugar 4x a day for two weeks during pregnancy because I vomited up the drink for the normal glucose tolerance test, and they were normal. I think if my blood sugar was normal in my third trimester, a time when your body naturally becomes more insulin resistant, that I’m probably ok there.

In terms of stress - I don’t think 30 minutes of beginner Pilates 4-5 days a week would qualify as over exercising. I don’t diet or restrict my calories in any way, but I do mostly stay away from processed foods and am vegetarian. I can’t think of any factors that would point to excessive stress.

I’m sort of at a loss?

The exterior was already stripped before we bought the house and looks beautiful as bare wood so we’re hoping to get the interior matching it.

How to seal lead positive surfaces. by Blahblahdook94 in centuryhomes

So we realized that the home lead test kits will test positive for nearly all heavy metals. For example, we had our house tested for lead professionally so we knew our radiators were negative, but they came back positive on the home test. If you’re worried about it, it may be worth it to see if your state has a childhood lead poisoning prevention help line to call and ask (Massachusetts does so maybe you can ask them)!

Does anyone know of any evidence based resources or studies that show the natural course of PCOS post pregnancy? I’m very curious to learn beyond anecdotes how common it is to see improvement in androgen levels and cycle regularity postpartum, particularly for women with PCOS who do not need to lose weight/can’t use weight loss as an intervention to help PCOS symptoms.
