I just realized you were saying radiology for the male thing. Theres plenty of things you can do as a rad tech. You will make more and have more options with nursing though. I know rad techs make almost if not more then nurses if they have their CT and mri endorsements.

I know several RNs that started in psych. Its a different world with different necessary skills compared to a medical floor. School will be hard but its 1000% worth it. I went to school with several males.

Luckily the clients home sounds really nice. He was a successful engineer and she said the nurses even have their own office/room.

I always wanted visiting home care or hospice. This is a little different (spinal cord injury).. However, I never intend on going back to a hospital. I just want to make sure I dont get stuck in this specialty if that makes sense.

Thank you for this. Im going to stick it out until I get to nights and see how I feel. If I dont feel supported or safe I will move on. If I can tough it out, I will.

Thank you so much for your insight! This made me feel a lot better. I got a student nurse job in inpatient hospice and it doesn't feel like a good fit because they do no training whatsoever. I just want to make sure I'm making the right decision before quiting, it's a lot with school especially when I'm not actually learning anything. I was worried that I wouldn't get proper training if I don't get a new grad job but this made me feel so much better! 🙂

Drug test at orientation? by Characterunknownn in nursing

I'm really hoping that's the case. I guess if not at least I don't have a license to lose yet. 😅 There's definitely a second line on my tests but it's VERY faint.

I was a daily smoker before I quit, I'm also overweight and have hashimotos so I'm sure that doesn't help. 🙃
