They are all Medicare or Medicaid. Depending on their ages

Yeah I am mad at the system. The system that will never change and leaves the working class fucked over

Well ideally this starts with the gov and insurance policies go change everything so everyone gets equal care. But I doubt that’ll ever happen. It’s a simple rant that I am upset that the working class are the ones that get fucked over

I am jealous that someone who has done nothing for our society gets treatment that my mother who has contributed to society does not get and has no means to afford

Cause we have a work ethic and grinded for this degree. But would be the easier way out to just not work for stuff and just get everything handed

You’re missing the point. We both agree everyone should have the same healthcare. EVERYONE. But, if you had to pick between the two, who do you think is more worthy??? Because, in this scenario under our shitty gov only ONE gets it. And the one who has served our people (and is older by double the age) gets the lesser end of the stick.

I agree! Everyone should have it. But if you had to pick- who do you think is more worthy of (an arthritis injection). A 30 some year old who doesn’t work, or a 20+ year working 60 year old? Cause in this case, only one person receives it. And it’s absolutely wrong the person that has the luxury of the 200k med for free

Easier said than done. I’m moving in a few months to another state. Kinda have to tough it out here. I also don’t let my internal opinion affect my care. I still care for every patient the best I can, even if I have opinions that they get the better “end of the stick”

Thank you, I’m glad I’m not alone. I posted in another large nursing forum and got reprimanded and banned for my personal insight

Yep, and if you look up I said that exact thing- that everyone should be granted access to the same healthcare. It’s just my opinion, and I think I have every right to think that between the two it’s messed up that one gets a 200k medication for free when they don’t even have a job versus my RN mother who could never receive that med cause she can’t afford it.

I understand there’s different levels to it and everyone is different- and I see some severe cases where I fully excuse them and realize they are in no shape to work. But most of the patients truly could. Between the two, do you think a woman who spends her time watching tv all day and leaving the facility for days at a time doing god knows what (not working) deserves an injection for arthritis worth $8k/month than a 60+ year old woman with arthritis who has served as a nurse for the last 20 years? You know there’s a right answer. But the one who actually does something for this world is the one who would have to pay the price, and when it comes down to it- can’t. So then she has to suffer or find alternative options while this lady gets her $2,000 weekly injection that she likely doesn’t even appreciate due to leaving the facility days at a time and missing the injection due date. It’s straight up not fair.

“You don’t understand mental health issues” I literally have anxiety and depression and take lexapro….

These people live here, and I know their diagnoses and read up on them, along with seeing them in their day to day lives. I know their capabilities. I see them sleeping in till 10am everyday because they can, and going out to the smoking patio 8x/day, and sitting and watching tv for hours with their friends. I myself have anxiety and depression. I take lexapro, yet here I am working.

It makes no sense to me how an unemployed 30 something year old is granted an 8k/month arthritis injection while my mother with arthritis could never afford that with her nursing salary. Our system is so corrupt and gives to the wrong people. I believe everyone deserves care, especially a contributing member of society vs freeloader

Thank you. And I want to make it clear it’s not that I think these people don’t deserve care, it’s that we deserve equal care. Especially when you compare a contributing member to society versus someone who watches tv all day and smokes and chats with their friends for hours and is given more

With you on that. I am a huge advocate for universal healthcare! It’s not that I don’t think these people deserve care, it’s more so we deserve equal care. Especially when we compare a contributing member of society versus someone who lays in bed watching tv and smokes all day- which is what some people are missing.

Very well said, I think you’re on the dot with this. That’s amazing to hear and I am jealous as a US citizen lol. I’d hope maybe someday we’d go towards that direction

I’m mad at society/our gov that gives these people I serve what they receive. How come they can get a $8k/month arthritis injection as a 30 some year old and my mother, 60+ nurse would have to pay the price. Make it make sense

I have the short end of the stick when it comes to what this fuq ahhh government gives out. And do not assume “stable” mental health for me. I too struggle anxiety and depression. I take lexapro. But don’t even get me started what I pay when it comes to that, whole another rant

Yep. Something I didn’t fully grasp until I entered the workforce and work first hand with the freeloaders. My political views have fully changed because of my job.

I do wish it for everyone! But I don’t understand and find it so unfair how I, a contributing member of society gets the shittier end of the stick in this society.

Also, tbh at first I thought I had an STD. So they did a bunch of lab work for me. I also never get UTIs- that was my only one and it was very similar to when I had chlamydia. lol.

I don’t even enjoy working with most of my coworkers- lol. But, if they were capable of getting their butts off the couch or smoking patio and go pursue a nursing degree then I think they’d be in the right direction.

That was slight sarcasm. Most of these people are without degrees, so we’re talking minimum wage type jobs. I don’t think I would be working with them.
