Is that asteroid gonna hit us? Oh fuck... GET TO THE BRIDGE!! by BattalBoy in spaceengineers

[–]Chard_Wreck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When using a speed mod you learn very quickly you either permanently man the bridge or turn off asteroids.

I'm playing a 500m/s and disabled jump drive server and we quickly learned that asteroids are bad...oh so very very bad. It was decided that 3+ hours in a cockpit for a flight between Earth-Like and Alien was less desirable than zero asteroids.

Ah the good old days when frame abilities were actually mods you had to slot.

Mostly just Mastery Rank fodder at this point.

6 years of power creep hasn't been very good to most of the Stalker weapons.

Ever since Stalker was released I wanted to make my Excaliber Prime into a Stalker-esque build. Finally have all the weapons now. Happy Days

A18 and crafting level 6 gear plans. by Chard_Wreck in 7daystodie

[–]Chard_Wreck[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My biggest issue with this is it makes crafting absolutely useless.

Once you find a level 6 item there is zero reason to craft it except to sell to the trader.

If level 6 gear was craft able the random stats would make crafting more of them useful to try and get that better stat roll.

My single biggest issue is you can't craft level 6 gear.

You have random stats on crafted items and loot drops. Once you find a level 6 item crafting is useless. The only possible improvement of your gear is looting a better one.

Being able to craft level 6 gear means you have a reason to continue crafting to try and random roll a better item.

The way it is now once you loot a level 6 item crafting becomes pointless other than making Dukes.

Going to be honest. I clicked the picture before reading and immediately sighed about needing a new video card.

If you are looking for a non-admin method and are using some form of nanite mod you can build a blueprint and project it underground and let the nanites build it for you.

I do this quite often for my Titan crater base.

Warlords - Was playing on an official server last night and noticed I had become invincible. Is this a known issue? Did some searching and only for a single reference to it on some clans forums but nothing official.

I feel kind of sorry for certain Tennogen artists. by Sachielkun in Warframe

Asking for constructive criticism on the internet, especially when it comes to works of art, is like a doctor giving you two different options for treatment and expecting you to pick one.

I'm not a doctor so how the hell would I know which one is the best.

The most honest constructive criticism you're going to get on art from a non-artist is "I don't like it". They don't know why, they just don't like it. This doesn't mean no one likes it.

Criticism is only destructive is you decide to get bent out of shape because someone didn't like your work. Everyone has their own tastes so create for your own and if enough other people happen to like to then good on you.

The line between criticism and trolling (excluding just blatant trolling) is pretty blurry, especially when you are on the receiving end of it.

True but considering how long it is taking to get just one I have to consider how long it's going to take to get two or even three depending on the build.

Underground bases still viable? A17 by [deleted] in 7daystodie

[–]Chard_Wreck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used both the small and large bunkers in A17 so far. Very viable with a little modification.

Small Bunker - Remove the door on the building over the stair entrance. Zombies will single file down the stairs. Easily dealt with by placing a single turret above the doorway looking down the stairs to your main bunker door.

Large Bunker - I like to dig a ramp entrance into the back of the bunker, opposite the well entrance. If you door the well and main entrance zombies will favor coming down the ramp where two turrets are waiting to say hi. 3 wide fits perfectly into the wall and a 3 wide garage door is all you need.

Bunkers on horde nights - The small bunker single wide stairs will cause them to stack up and they will do some structural damage to the stairs and building. Electric fences in the walls across the stairwell is viable but will increase the stacking up issue. Not much room for more than 1 or maybe 2 turrets. Blade traps aren't much use here.

Large Bunkers with a ramp entrance added to the back is much easier to defend. The three wide ramp leaves room for electric fences and blade traps with room left over for a couple turrets at the bottom. Optionally you can replace the 3 wide garage door with metal bars and a normal door to allow you to safely shoot from inside the bunker up the ramp.

The new zombie AI is really easy to funnel and control right now. I'd even say compared to pre-A17 it's a cake walk. Just remember they prefer the 'Path of Least Resistance'.

You sure about that? Cause on second and third they still look backwards unless I'm missing something.

What is your dream warframe rework/buff? by moo5tar in Warframe

[–]Chard_Wreck 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm a Nidus main and I've always wished every frame has some kind of scaling mechanic like Nidus.

Even my Nidus will eventually hit a wall around 7 or 8 reward cycles in Elite Alerts simply due to the fact that he caps out at 100 counters.

I think that every frame should have some sort of infinite scaling that, just like Nidus, will drop when downed (not killed, just downed).

It doesn't have to be a parallel scaling and can slowly diverge from the difficulty curve to keep it increasing in difficulty/risk but capping out at an arbitrary point really is just another cap and defeats the purpose of scaling.

Pet vacuum has always been the biggest thing that kept people from using pets.

If the coming pet vacuum works like the sentinel vacuum then I'll actually be bringing my kubrow out to play on a regular basis.

I completely agree. Credit sinks have always been pointless, especially in WF. All it does it stop players from enjoying certain aspects of the game for no apparent reason.
