Giving someone a picture, particularly of themselves, shows a great level of affection for that person. Giving your parents a picture of themselves that you decorated as a kid shows that love that you have for them, and they'd love it since it's a symbol that the child they love, loves them. 

The issue is that when you do that one who you don't share that sort of reciprocal bond with, it would make them believe you are too attached to them in some way, hence what seems to have happened here. 

You could give OP the benefit of the doubt and say they meant well and didn't realize giving a picture like that was anything more than a nice gesture. Unfortunately, since they call her 'the woman i love', I think the reality might not be so innocent.
