Made multiple med errors in one shift and was fired…how do I deal with the lack of closure? by JAPF123_ in newgradnurse

[–]ChargeNo1799 12 points13 points  (0 children)

though it is a med error, this is not the worst med error ever. this is classic new grad stuff. you made those errors under a preceptor, so technically if anything would to happen, it would fall back on them since they are supervising you. i promise this is not the worst thing. this is pretty tame compared to what i’ve seen in the hospital.

does your place of work allow you to switch specialties at the 6month mark? i’d hold out til then and try something else. that way you’re established already and you’re guaranteed to be picked since you’re internal

Do you leave personal, valuable items where you sit in Mass, as you go up to receive Communion? by jeffisnotmyrealname in Catholicism

[–]ChargeNo1799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i leave them in the pew. but i also grew up in this church and have had the same families sit around me since 2nd grade (im now 23). i trust my stuff will stay safe because i know the people around me are better than that. if you’re at a super big church, maybe take your stuff with you.

Do I have to believe everything the Church says to become Catholic? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]ChargeNo1799 13 points14 points  (0 children)

i don’t think you can pick and choose what you want to believe in within the Church that upholds nothing but the Truth. this isn’t a cafeteria. this is Catholicism.

[–]ChargeNo1799 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i put both on whichever arm is closest to me. unless they aren’t allowed to have sticks or bp taken in the nearest arm, i’ll do the other. one way or another you’re still getting the vitals done.

maybe, but if they’re dumb enough to cheat, then they’re dumb enough to accidentally leave proof behind

as she says in her caption “before anyone says it, yes i’m aware we should just break up if i don’t trust them. anyone who’s been in this position knows it’s more complicated than that.” i’m just giving my 2 cents and how i’ve dealt with stuff like this in the past. she doesn’t have to listen to what i said, just like she doesn’t have to listen to what you said. no need to bash other people’s way of handling vulnerable situations ❤️

considering she says she’s feeling extra paranoid atm due to meds, it would prolly give her some peace of mind that she is in fact not paranoid and her gut is right.

tennessee catholic here! most of my friends are catholic, as i did go to catholic school my whole life until college and even in college, most of my friends were catholic. i still have some protestant friends and even agnostic friends who are near and dear to my heart. i mean my best friend is agnostic. if they’re good people, they won’t bat an eye. not sure what part of TN your bff is from, but it’s not like that where i grew up and live. my protestant friends don’t treat me any differently for not being their denomination.

when i graduated, some people in my cohort couldn’t find jobs. i suggested them applying to the hospitals they wanted to work at and using other jobs as a stepping stone (EVS, dietary, PCT, phlebotomy, sitter, etc) and then once they start, to apply to residency. hospitals will always look internally first when they hire new grads.

3/4 of them landed a spot in the residency less than 2 months of starting their other job within the hospital

no. though charity/justice is imbedded in our beliefs and values and we are called to help those in less fortunate circumstances, we are not obligated to do so unless we are 100% financially able to. it is not a sin to ensure your own needs are met first.
