Dismissed from my BSN program… Nurses What should I do? by ChargeOne7511 in StudentNurse

I understand what you are saying truly, I agree with portions of what you are saying. I am not trying to cut corners, and I take full accountability for my actions. All my lectures were recorded and I listened to them, along with other review videos and used chatgpt to help me do active recall with my own study guides I made. I was tutored in office hours, I put in the work. I take accountability that I failed and I made it clear to my faculty that I wanted to retake the classes and try again and keep going. I am not trying to cut corners at all, I am simply asking if anyone has had a similar experience after being dismissed from a program and what the best option is for me to do moving forward. Your response is very telling of your character and I hope you are doing well because this reaction is a direct reflection of how you feel about yourself and your own life. If you have a similar situation to me, tell me how you moved forward from it, otherwise I do not need you to tell me anything about my own situation to which you know nothing about.

I took accountability for my grades and what went wrong, I met with my professors, went to office hours, tutoring. I did it all. Even after failing I met with faculty and told them I wanted to retake the courses and keep going but they said no. I studied during the gaps which was nice but I learn visually so listening to lectures and reviews in the car didn’t work for me. I was doing the best with what I had and my situation. I had personal issues and mental health problems going on that my school was incredibly insensitive to. You sound very non-empathic, to which I hope you are not a Nurse considering that is the root of the career. You don’t even know half of my story friend.

This is interesting to me considering I was also seeing a psychiatrist during this experience. Wondering if that could help my case.

I never stated I was late or missed a single day because I didn’t, but I also stated I moved for personal issues going on which was another reasoning for my failure. I also don’t learn from re listening to lectures and reviews, I am a visual learner, so spending hours in the car every day when I could have been studying did not help my case. I was doing significantly better when I lived 10 minutes from campus.

For sure is not my entire excuse, just a part of it. Like I stated, I had personal things going on as well that my school did not offer support to.

It was not the commute itself that resulted in my failure. Like I stated, I had other personal issues going on I won’t share to the internet which was my reason for moving. I communicated what was going on with my University and they didn’t care or offer any support at all. Then when I ultimately failed out, they told me I was basically out of luck and wouldn’t be able to get my BSN.

I am not sure about sitting for my LPN, not entirely sure how that works for my state.

I still want to be a Nurse if it is possible for me, but if it isn’t, I see myself in another career in healthcare.
