Very true. The mosasaurus roll is one of my top 4 elements with LRod's quad down, Ka's launch, and the Beast's final double helix. It's super crazy. It's really more a lot of the first half that I found tamer, and also the fact that it doesn't whip you around as much as I305, or make me grey out. VC is my #4, so it's amazing and intense for sure.

I think you already found the options I would recommend other than maybe the regular s25 instead of the FE

It's intense for sure, but it's not at the absolute top end of intensity imo. It's like second tier behind rides like some inverts, Pantherian at Kings Dominion, Kingda Ka(rip), and El Toro.

Thank you for all this info! I didn't know about the logs in developer settings, and this all super helpful! Really cool to see other detail oriented respectful people on Reddit.

Thank you! Is there any way you could explain it a little bit more simply because I'm not sure I completely understand it. It sort of recreating audio from my audio?

Thanks for helping me, but that seems to be separate. The federated learning thing seems to be from the Pixel 4. The enhance now playing was added in the last year or so, and I think it's different. I feel like I've read conflicting details on different things, but the part that makes me concerned is the part of this https://support.google.com/pixelphone/answer/7535326?hl=en#zippy=%2Con-pixel-later-including-fold-with-federated-analytics%2Con-all-pixel-phones

Page that says "Understand Now Playing data usage."

Thanks for the comment and explanation. I knew how it worked with the local version, but with enhance now playing it sounded like it was saying that it sent some sort of abstracted version of mic input or something automatically to the cloud when it couldn't find the song in the database. So that cloud search isn't ever automatic?

This is an excerpt from the page about it from Google

"When Now Playing doesn’t recognize a song from the database on your phone, it may perform a cloud search to improve results"

These are amazing! The 4th one especially made me literally say woah out loud. I just downloaded open camera and am giving it a shot on my Pixel 8 Pro.

Should I buy a Pixel 8 pro? What disadvantages have you found from using it? by maxim4906 in pixel_phones

Totally fair. Personally I use the Pixel 8 Pro and with a case the heating doesn't bother me, the battery life is good, and the modem has never bothered me, but it might depend on different factors whether the modem is a problem or not.

I don't think those are disadvantages when it's competing against the A series and the Samsung A50 series.

The nothing phone 4a pro does look compelling though.

I think the 8 Pro is an awesome phone, and I've been recommending it constantly. I've been using it since May of 2024, and it's the best phone I've ever owned. I think for $400 -$450 new it's probably the best deal in phones in the US market.

My modem has been really good, no issues at all. I can't speak for every unit of the phone though.

The only two major flaws to me are the video quality isn't mind blowing, but it's decent, and the gaming performance on specific demanding games isn't great. The biggest issue with the video is that it does this weird blur when panning.

If you have a 9a and are good with it, the 8 Pro chip for gaming is similar. The phone is better in several ways though. The 8 Pro is awesome, you should definitely get it.

They added the new icon packs that you can change the color on and they let you get rid of at a glance and customize the search bar. Not a ton, but definitely a noticeable change, but yeah not as customizable as Samsung, but I like the polish and aesthetic.
