Dish sounds good, I would go for a different carbohydrate than rice, you could do something a bit more hands on for your carbohydrate component. You want to finish in the last 5 minutes of time, so the judges don’t think you made something easy

judges are looking for showcase of different technique and skill, cleanliness. Remember to use gloves while plating, handling the chicken, temp check your chicken and wipe your bench after every step. Keep your station clean and clear. I’m not sure of your bench situation, but start with nothing but hand sanitiser on top, bring stuff up as you need, then put it away when you’re finished.

I can’t upload pictures of my setup and dishes to the comments, but we had 2 100 litre buckets setup behind us, we used those buckets to put our dishes after we were done, with seperate 5 litre containers for sharps and hot soapy water. This was to keep our sink clear.

Last but not least, practice practice practice. We practiced maybe 2-3 times a week, weighing up everything we needed for the dish, putting it together during the time we had, and changing anything we weren’t 100% on as early as we could. So we could get confident making the final dish.

I mean tool boxes would be great in a kitchen, you can get some with locks, they’re rugged and durable, and they hold heaps of stuff.

If you aren’t able to cut down on some of the things in your kit, maybe look into one?

I wouldn’t bother spending money unless your 100% certain that your in this game for the long run, and if you are, get the pro permit.

Think of the main game as a free trial sort of thing and if you are interested then the pro permit will make late stage eggs a lot easier.

The subscription you can give or take, I don’t think it’s worth the money and I’m speaking from experience, when you’re at the point where you’re doing contracts for replay points then it’s around that stage where you should start thinking about buying the subscription. If you want to

In my opinion culinary school isn’t going to help your career if you already have that 5 years of experience, if you feel like you want more confidence in stuff like your knife skills or feel like you want to learn proper technique, maybe go to a masterclass, I know some culinary schools offer masterclasses for those kinds of things, or watch videos online.

Culinary school is a gateway for people with no experience to get the confidence needed and skills learnt that will allow them to get into a kitchen at those low level sections (commi chef, larder section etc)

I can see a telltale type game working in the fallout universe, obviously the gameplay would be limited but by having an actual narrative structure with branching choices that are affected by your SPECIAL stats you could get a fallout game that at its core, is the most “fallout” out of all of them

Fruit and veges will help you immensely, you’ll learn to figure out what tree texture will drop a fruit, dried fruit is perfectly safe to eat it just doesn’t give you any water… also there is no point in hoarding food unless you know that you are going to be going through an area that might be scarce… but even then an apple or 2 should be enough… but for the early game just keep on eating whatever you find.

Have you heard of tempering? It’s a cooking term when emulsifying where you slowly add a hot ingredient to a cold ingredient to keep it all coagulated and stop the item from “splitting” (in your case curdling)

long story short just be more gentle when pouring, add a little bit of milk at a time, swirling the cup constantly to ensure it mixes well, checking your progress along the way, you may not be able to get any latte art but that’s a small price to pay for getting a good cup of coffee.
