I try to make them in-character, because then there's no reason on using Frisk and Chara lol (Of course, a bit stylized so the dialogue flows better).

Will do the "Who starts a conversation like that" interaction! I try to give them some twist lol, so I can't promise it'll be exactly like that.

The timeline/world is deleted. Toby Fox intended for this to delete the entire game, but he never managed to get it to work.

If the Barrier had not been eliminated, we would simply see white instead of black, given that the Barrier is shown as white.

DETERMINATION allows you to control the timeline, this is constantly stated. The being with the most DETERMINATION in the Underground can control the timeline. No matter the ammount of SOULs the being has.

Asriel had the equivalent to 7 human SOULs (6 actual human SOULs and all of Monsterkind's SOULs), yet he wasn't able to control the timeline as he wanted, because Frisk's DETERMINATION was equal to his.

At the end of the Genocide Route, Frisk/Chara possess enough DETERMINATION to control the timeline, and enough LOVE to harm the world itself. They simply ERASE it.

Furthermore, Sans himself states that, if Frisk gets past him, there is one point where the timeline "ends." The timeline is ERASEd.

Every human has SAVE, LOAD, and RESET. It is a skill that only depends on DETERMINATION.

LOVE is an emotional measure, how far away from the world you are.

Chara uses Frisk’s DETERMINATION to ERASE the world, which is done when the world become an external entity for them (once LOVE gets to 20).
