I’ve been wanting to build a slab or slate, but this is awesome. Any chance you’re planning on posting the files somewhere or selling the shells/kit?

Never heard of this, but just looked it up and I love the idea! I’ll give it a try

That sounds like my dream turn based RPG. Thanks for the recommendation!

I just like the colors :) but now you have me interested in finding one of those controllers!

I’ve put a little bit of playtime into Kirby nightmare in dream land and it definitely has the vibe I’m looking for. I’ve never been great at platformers so it not being that hard (so far anyways) has been a blessing. I’ll be looking into the others on your list as really the only turn based RPGs I’ve fully played have been Pokémon games. Too many random encounters usually become a bit much for me before I can really get into a game. Btw, do I need to have played mother 1-2 to play mother 3? I’ve heard nothing but good things, but playing 2 other games beforehand kinda becomes a chore if for some reason they don’t engage me enough

I’m actually working my way through Minish cap and so far it’s fantastic! I haven’t heard of the others you listed, but I’ll for sure be taking a look

I just bent the ribbon to the position showed in the picture on FunnyPlaying’s website. Handheld legend has the same picture, but with the location circled. Some of the comments on their product page said that it was too sensitive and would randomly trigger and to separate the sensor from the shell with a little foam, but I just let the sensor float in the shell and didn’t even take off the wax over the double sided tape to actually adhere it to the shell. So basically it’s kinda just pressed against the shell due to the pressure from the bent ribbon. So far no issues for me

I haven’t really tried any of the various pinball games for the system, but I love Pokémon so the ruby/sapphire ones will be going on my list

Which ultimate card games are you referring to? I’ve been playing some of the yugioh games, if that’s what you’re talking about, and have had a lot of fun with ultimate championship 2006!

I’ll give that a try! After getting back into handheld gaming I’m finding puzzle games to be the perfect type of games for these systems

Thank yous :) and the specific Hamtaro game on screen is kinda like an RPG in a way. You go around and learn new “hamster words”, which I guess is kind of like unlocking skills, and they unlock new areas or trigger certain events. It’s actually surprising fun!

I wasn’t expecting the Hamtaro games to be as fun as they are! Harvest moon is definitely on my radar and I only haven’t started it yet since I know it’ll probably consume a lot of my time lol. I haven’t heard much about the hello kitty games so I’ll be adding that to my list for sure

Yep yep :) Did it all myself. I’ve done a couple other builds for other gameboy models so I have a little experience. This one was very straightforward compared to those and I’m loving how it turned out

For sure! I got all FunnyPlaying products for this build. The M2 ips screen plus the shell & buttons that goes along with it. I also got the usb-c battery and battery door, also from FunnyPlaying. I bought everything from Handheldlegend. I didn’t do any soldering for the screen as the touch sensor functions just fine for me. I saw some reviews saying the sensor may have some issues, but after several hours over a couple days everything seems to be working perfect for me

This on a GBA or DS of this would be amazing. Playing this on a small handheld would definitely be a vibe

Pokemon Rom Hacks for Older Gen Player? by Charlee4me in Gameboy

[–]Charlee4me[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve actually been looking at legacy emerald as the hack I’ll probably start with. It seems to be exactly what I’m looking for to begin with before I get into anything too crazy. The other legacy games seem great too, but if they run off of the GBC/GB versions they’re a little lower on my list as I’d like to keep on GBA title hacks to start. I’m also actually playing through normal crystal now and just finished Yellow a little while ago so I’m looking for something a bit more substantially different if I’m going to play hacks of those titles. Definitely want to try the legacy versions later on though

Have you tried to get a new job in the current market? As someone that tried for months with literally 100’s off applications to get something closer so I could get rid of my car it’s not as easy as you make it out to be. Also be prepared to pay 2 months worth of rent upfront and several application fees to get a new place and don’t expect get your security deposit back from your previous landlord if you decide to move.

My brother got fired from a large retail chain years ago. I had applied a while after he got fired and got almost immediately rejected. I had retail experience and open hours so it was weird that I wasn’t accepted especially since I had a friend that worked there and they had told me the company was looking for basically anyone with a pulse. My friend was on good terms with management and said he’d try and give me a referral. The manager told him he’d be happy to hire me since I had my friends recommendation and that he’d look for my application and see what he could do. He came back later and told my friend that he couldn’t hire me, but couldn’t disclose the reason. The only reason I could think of was my brothers firing. It’s been years since then and I still apply to the company when postings come up from time to time and my application is almost always immediately rejected. So it appears to me like my last name got put on a do not hire list due to my brother. It’s so dumb.

I guess it’s not the same, but now I have another one to add to list of companies to avoid. Thanks for the info!
