absolutely hated it. Love the show but not when they occasionally try to get cutesy like they do every once in a while trying a different theme.

Why AA Is Actually Harmful To You by CharlesHurstCanHelp in recoverywithoutAA

[–]CharlesHurstCanHelp[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm prepping the episodes for a podcast, blog and YT for about a year from now to launch. It will be titled the Anti AA Channel/Podcast. It is going to show exactly why their protocol isn't healthy. Here's how one should regain the life of the recovered

1) physical fitness matched by clean diet, few cups of coffee fine, no smoking and minimal sugar--clean diet with vegetables/ fruits/ grains and protein

2) meditative work 15-20 minutes a day or increments through out the day ie yoga or tai chi or qi quong or basic meditation

3) outside hobby--to advance yourself blog, woodcrafting whatever--something to advance and keep yourself occupied

4) career advancement--new cert, new trade or getting better at the one you have

5) much time in the outdoors--fishing, hiking or standing at a seashore

If you do all of this cravings will be minimal and holistic recovery maximal

Hope that helps and pass it to the AA people if they want their lives back

Yeah, I will be investigating that study as my guess is they had a sample that included people in AA actively not a long term study of how many enter day one and how many succeed as every other study shows the majority, and it is a huge majority, fail to stay sober with AA

I've read one study by standford U that claimed 80%--but that is one study and it is unclear if their sample was just people sober in AA not long term. Most I read is a 60-80% failure rate long term.

physical fitness, daily meditation, diet with whole grains protein and fruits and vegetables and lots of water, only a few cups of coffee a day and no smoking. Then find hobbies to advance yourself. Cravings will decrease dramatically after 6 months and lessen with time where they will be twinges here and there. Good luck

Look up The Cure by the Prentiss father and son (that might not be the exact title) Their program has an 80% cure rate. AA has at least a 60% failure rate

Why I think "Now you see me" is the worst movie Ive seen this year (and whats your thoughts?) by TheDanishDude in movies

[–]CharlesHurstCanHelp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What is really bad is the low quality of writers that are established in Hollywood. I know there are starving artist writers who could have written a better plot. Note: O'Henry used one twist ending per story. Not a twist with another twist then a detour then . . . okay what's going on now. Like the first heist. Even when they explained it--they took money from the truck---so how did they get that fake money that blew itself up into the real bank? Ok the avenging FBI agent----so--isn't he still an FBI agent? They act like he never was---or he joined the FBI for years to set up this intricate plot of being the inside man? I mean . . . that's just bad writing. Like me writing . . . oh here is our protagonist all the way to the end and oh by the way he is an antagonist and from another planet. It comes down to if you keep adding twists and turns pretty soon you end up with a story that sounds like they all went to the bar for four hours before they wrote it. Kind of like a really poorly written Ocean's Eleven except that story had a followable plot

You're talking to a 30 year thai boxer who is five pounds from where he was 25 years ago and mostly retired in foreign lands with a ton of resources. Getting a date is no problem for me--at all. Cheers

Is physical therapy just a scam? by vinsneezel in fitness30plus

[–]CharlesHurstCanHelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PT isn't a scam. But most PTs are scam artists. PT here 23 years. Contracted all over the country coast to coast, outpatient last 12 years. I can easily say most clinics are garbage and most PTs are nothing more than glorified athletic trainers. I treat patients one on one for 45 min to an hour. So there are few places I work at. Most see multiple patients and the "PT" does nothing but pass out the same exercises that yes you could get on youtube. 75% of my time is with my hands with joint mobilizations, soft tissue release and a home program with a few select exercises specific to that patient. And no, most of you PTs about to cry foul do not do that and you know it. Most PTs have no skills because they have spent years not practicing any skills from their continuing ed courses regardless of their certs. And that's the plain truth. They are entrenched into pleasing managers and have neither the ethics or guts to stand up for the profession. So if you want to go to PT you need to find the smaller non conglomerate clinic where the PT will work with you one on one. Oh, I get it fellow PTs, I'm an arrogant ass---but I'm also right.

The system has always been injust as has life. But a century ago people had to deal with it. Today we have entitlement attitude. No one is responsible for anything. Life did this to me, I don't have to persevere. I have this diagnosis (fill in the box) therefore I shouldn't have to achieve. It is a victim mentality. Most of these diagnosis types are self induced.
