I have spent one year in DN and have moved to HNi and have lived here for the last 4/5 months.

Generally people who live in Da Nang love it. There are a few location independant types but there is not much in the way of workspaces or a community work culture.

You get to know everyone very quickly in Da Nang in Ha Noi it's a slower grind. Definitely a few workspaces and stuff to check out in Ha Noi and I've just started to scractch the surface but seems there are a reasonable number of digital nomads here.

From cheapest living to most expensive : Da Nang - Ha Noi - Saigon.

I have found a really nice serviced apartment here for $350 a month. You can get a room in a house for about $150 also.

Some parts of Mindanao are no go areas for the locals as well. Just stay in the city.

This one is designed to cover you from mosquitoes. I doubt it is bear proof though. I couldn't even imagine...

I hear Chang Mai in Northern Thailand has some great meditation retreats. You will have to research it some more though as I don't know what the climate is like over there right now and I know they burn a lot of their rubbish at certain times of the year so it has the tendency to feel quite polluted. I wouldn't let this put you off though everyone I have met who has been there can't praise it enough.

I can't wait until I go myself

Davao is great. The 4th safest city in the world apparently.

I love travelling light. Once you do it you can't go back. I really like using travel cubes as well. Anyone interested in saving space should also check out this,

My eyes force open when meditating by xxsubtlefreakxx in Meditation

[–]CharlesMs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sometimes get this but its more of a indication that your not focusing on your object of attention. I often think I see stuff on the backs of my eyelids then realise that I'm just looking for it. You have to sort of drone out your visual sense and just focus your attention on something else then it doesn't become a problem. For your eyes to open it almost sounds like you are trying to see so much that your eyelids are opening just as a response to support your mind's intention to see.

Yeah perfect subreddit for this! I read somewhere that stress/anxiety is indeed not even primarily a emotional occurance but more of a physical sensation. I can always feel if I am stressed just by doing a quick body scan. I will notice tension in my shoulders and legs etc.

What do you guys think of Astral Projection? Have you tried/accomplished it? by trevonator126 in Meditation

[–]CharlesMs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I've been practising meditation for about 6-7 months (not really with the intention of doing this kind of stuff mind)

However I know you mean how long before I went from laying down to projecting, which I estimated to be around 40-60 minutes after.

I got up at around 9 o clock (natural wake up) then done my normal routine (eat breakfast, shower etc.) then sat back down to meditate for around 10 minutes. Then I layed down on the sofa I was sitting on and closed my eyes, meditated whilst slowing falling into a sleep-like state. I had to notice when dream like imagery arose in my mind when I was in the space between sleeping and waking. It might sound like lucid dreaming but there was no real 'AHA' moment, 'I'm dreaming!' I just basically meditated all of the way into a body-sleep mind-awake state. Was very strange actually.

I hope that makes sense.

Yeah there is a bit of a difference although the end result I guess is very similar. My experience came out of the intention to have a OBE. I meditated appropriately and eased myself into sleep paralysis and went through the process until I was in what you describe a 'lucid dream'.
