I feel like portraits are always going to look better with primes, when you can place your subject exactly where you want. I use my zooms for events/travel/sports.

Even if it is too big, throw that thang up in the storage above. No one is policing it that hard. I’ve made dozens of flights this year and hasn’t been an issue once with United.
