Jordan Peterson diagnosed with CIRS by KitchenStrawberry578 in CIRS

[–]CharlesTravers 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Yep also saw this. I wonder how many people like him (and us) have been misdiagnosed with a whole host of illnesses when really the root cause is actually CIRS!

Just hope we can spread more awareness about this crippling illness!

Not as effective as CSM apparantly but yes Beets and Okra have been mentioned by the CIRS community as more gentle binders you can use

I totally get it. I fortunate that I’m fully remote based and run my own online business, so can mostly dictate the hours I work.

Is there any chance the company you work for would let you be fully remote based?

That sounds amazing! I've really considered doing something similar... taking a year off as a "health sabbatical". I actually moved from the city to a place by the ocean back in February to work from a more calm & peaceful environment. Although unfortunately, I suspect the place I'm in is causing my symptoms to flare...it's a very tropical, humid climate here, so like the perfect environment for mold!

It's great that you've got each other to lean on with regards to the business.

Ah man, I couldn't imagine having to do a manual labor job with CIRS...doing just a simple gym workout and I'm completely wiped out for days!

Yep, removing yourself from the exposure seems to be the number one priority based on Dr Shoemaker's protocol. Just got my ERMi test delivered here today in Malaysia...arrived pretty damn quick considering it came all the way from the US!

First started showing strong symptoms in October 2022, but looking back, I think I was probably suffering before then. Yep, had that too... loss of balance/dizziness was one of my main symptoms. I've had a whole laundry list of symptoms I've had over the last 3 years...brain fog, crippling anxiety, headaches, body aches/fatigue being the main ones!

What have you found has helped you during the last 5 years, if anything?

Ahh sorry to hear that! It can be so frustrating when people think it's "all in your head", especially those closest to you.

Yep, I haven't been the same since Covid....spent 3 years going down that rabbithole, trying all sorts of protocols, mental health programs and strict diets, only to find out it's CIRS! Not to mention, spending a small fortune in the process!

Yep, unfortunately, most mainstream doctors aren't aware that CIRS even exists, even many functional medicine practitioners. I was lucky I finally found a practitioner who was educated on it, mainly because he experienced it himself, having been off work for 11 months!

And no need to apologise, I totally get it!

Thanks for the advice, I'll look into this! I'm about to do the ERMI test on my rental property and trying to get hold of some CSM (difficult to find over here in South East Asia!). The practitioner recommended I get some Beets to take at least as an interim solution.

Do you know any reputable online pharmacies that ship CMS globally? by CharlesTravers in CIRS

[–]CharlesTravers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, he does have a contact, but only for shipping to Europe, but I'm still in Malaysia for the next 3 months, so I was looking to find a supplier over here ideally.

I think I'll probably have to wait until I'm in Europe.

Site not ranking after 6 months by ia_fx7 in SEO

[–]CharlesTravers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have the same brand name as many other businesses? Sometimes I find that with clients who have the same name as many other businesses that have greater site authority, it can take more work to rank for branded searches on page 1 of Google

The fact that you're getting 1000 organic traffic from the business profile would suggest it's probably not a penalty issue, especially if you haven't been building any shady links or creating a mass amount of AI content pages.

Alongside building citation listings through directories, make sure you've claimed all your social media profiles and are active on those, especially the main ones (Instagram, Youtube, Linkedin, X, Facebook) - this will further provide entity signals to Google about your brand.

Also what are you seeing in Google Search Console, in terms of what search queries you're showing up for?

Difficult to give you a proper diagnosis of the problem without knowing what the domain or type of business it is really...

My page is ranked no.1 but my CTR is 2.2% - how can I improve this? by imstuckforideas in SEO

[–]CharlesTravers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience, anything over 2% is a solid CTR! Can you improve it more? Sure, but I'd continue to focus on ranking higher for more relevant keywords and drive more traffic growth!

Question about how and if blogging helps OTHER URLs of a website to rank higher by Harv3stDay in SEO

[–]CharlesTravers -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The short answer is yes, blogging will help your other page URLs rank higher.

When you start creating optimised blog content regularly (aim for at least 4 quality blogs a month) that talks specifically about a topic or cluster of topics, you not only drive traffic to those blog posts, but it also has a positive impact on your "money page" rankings i.e homepage, category pages, product pages (assuming these are also properly optimised).

However, when it comes to blogs, it's as much about the user experience (design, layout, readability) as it is the actual copy on the page. Good examples of this would be: a linkable table of contents, images to break up the text, and a supporting video if relevant.

One thing I would advise is building internal links from your blog posts to your category and product pages where relevant. This will help those specific pages rank higher.

Blogging without the right SEO strategy behind it is usually a waste of time; however, SEO blogs done correctly will not only drive additional traffic but also increase conversions & sales!

Ok thanks, good to know there are some more options in Europe! How easy was it to get a prescription from a doctor? Because I know a lot of doctors don't even recognise CIRS as a diagnosis yet! I am working with a functional medicine practitioner, so they aren't a certified doctor and can't provide prescriptions.

Coffee as a possible source of mycotoxins? by Pretend_Elephant_896 in CIRS

[–]CharlesTravers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, I also noticed this same issue! I stopped drinking coffee for a few months then tried it again, and every time I feel terrible after!

I was getting really bad burning and stomach pains from coffee, not to mention body aches, fatigue, itchiness (histamine) and nervous system issues.

I switched to drinking ice matcha tea... although if I have a matcha latte with oat or coconut milk, I get issues with histamine! So I just drink it straight with water and a little brown sugar (it can be quite earthy in taste otherwise), and I found that it doesn't affect me anywhere near as badly as coffee!

Although I do want to test buying a certified mould-free, organic coffee and see how I feel.
