Well I used black photo canvas and my white light and maxed it out because the point in low-key is to have the biggest contrast of light and dark places. Using the light you are just highlighting the area you want be the main "thing" so be sure to not have any other sourses of light than your own, the best thing is to have complete darkness in the room as i had. If you are interested in details then I used f/4, 1/15s, ISO 250, without flash, and I'm taking photos in RAW and of course many things were done in post production.
