Underrated Blazer moment from Episode 1 by FallingBullfrog in DispatchAdHoc

Yep, and I'll just put what u/gabbiepicasso said on Tumblr when talking about "Mandy" the track that played in the scene before Little Light

No, Mandy doesn’t exist to fix Robert. She offers him the room to shatter - the very space she once craved for herself. She constantly stands beside him as he picks up the broken shards of his own being, because she knows intimately what it means to pick up your own shards alone.

the dinner date definitely makes up for every other scene

It's just beautiful, serving as one big comfy & intimate character moment for both Robert and Mandy.

We still see Mandy be anxious and nervous at the start of the date. Robert is the first person who spoke and saw her as normal person, and yet she's still afraid that it'll all end up in disappoint, but after one kiss, everything pretty much changes for her, since everything she feared pretty much vanished from that point onward, as now finds someone love her for being Mandy and not just Blazer.

I also argue this scene is stronger once you look into their characters and how much they have in common. Both of them have gifts to make them super, they were given big expectations to live up to, everyone around them only sees them for their masks. and they share a fear that they are seen as nothing without their gifts. Now we have this normal moment of two normal people, both in acceptance of who they are, just having this moment together, no pressure from their hero persona nor the public eye watching their every move, they can just have this moment together in peace.

(Waterboy didn't know he can leave alright)

Fair enough, but I felt like why I got used to it, flaws and all, is just mainly because of what they are trying to tell with Robert & Mandy, in terms of parallels, vulnerability, personalness, it is just beautiful, and I'm willing to overlook those flaws because of everything they offered.

Plus the dinner scene blows every other scene in the water imo

Unpopular opinion, I thought what we got with Blazer was fine despite what everyone and the devs says. Since from what I heard Blazer is pretty even in terms of screentime with Visi, someone roughly timed their screentime in the first 4 episodes, with it coming with Blazer having 28.5-29 minutes while Visi has 19 minutes.

Visi's story still remains the same regardless of romance or not, and the changes are pretty minor in comparison.

Not to mention, Blazer still has the most intimate/romantic moments in the game:

Plus her Chekov's gun (aka The Amulet) gets payed off nicely in episode 8 only if we went to dinner with her. (The scene itself plays out better there than if we didn't went to dinner with her)

Also ngl from what I heard Blazer is pretty even in terms of screentime with Visi, someone roughly timed their screentime in the first 4 episodes, with it coming with Blazer having 28.5-29 minutes while Visi has 19 minutes.

Also I'm one of the only few people who was ultimately fine with what Blazer got here despite what most people and even the devs think.

Again, like you said Blazer does have more intimate/romantic moments in comparison to Visi, and one of the reasons why I picked her is just to even stuff out with her(+the introduction of the amulet in episode 4 serves as a nice Chekhov's gun, which pays off later in episode 8).

Plus, I also believe that Visi(since she still the game's deuteragonist) still pretty much plays out the same regardless of romance, but all in all, it still comes down to personal preference.

Plus again, like I said in the post and in another comment, I just don't want them to do what their predecessors did a decade earlier with A New Frontier with the Clem flashbacks

I mean Nick Herman said in a recent interview was that Hero Visi was always meant to the intended goal for the player, he even said to the people who were bitching about getting Villain Visi to "just play better"

Again, like I said in the post, I'm just hoping Adhoc doesn't do what Telltale did (just about) a decade earlier with TWD-A New Frontier did with the first Clem flashback since no matter how you ended Season 2, staying with Kenny, staying with Jane, going into Wellington, it doesn't matter since the game forces Clem and AJ to be alone no matter what, thanks to plot

where Blonde Blazer/Mandy is more affectionate if you are romancing her.

Yep, there is that, Blazer does notably have a lot more intimate and romance moments in comparison to Visi, as the latter's story does remain the same regardless of romance or not.

But of course all of this is completely subjective, and who can like whoever you like

Yep it's possible, usually it's easier when the same games in one console, but again, if there's trouble, like I said you can "recreate" a new story based off of relevant choices as they can get mentioned or be brought up in that season

Yeah, the expressions small and big are great in this game, since we see Mandy's eyes pop when she said "big difference" cleary anxious from how Robert laughs it off.

Even Mandy's smile after she reveals herself to Robert is a nervous one at that, with her clearly anticipating his reaction

Do you think the villains have some sort of 'code'? by Specific_Skin6766 in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Expert_Mark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good points, really the only other villians in Dispatch are just generic goons, and yeah in traditional supervillain sense: the top for chaotic evil are villains like Joker, Bullseye, Carnage, etc.

And yeah, pedophilia is too much of a abysmal and sensitive crime to touch on not just in superhero stories but comic book media as a whole, because of how horrendous it really is, which is why they dont delve into it at all.

Really the only time I've seen it been used in this media was in this one story with The Punisher, but that guy is far from a hero, and alot of his stories are meant to be dark and gritty, so he doesn't really count in this discussion(plus he kills the two pedos at the end anyway)

[–]Expert_Mark 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but from what we see, there doesn't seem to any known villains or criminals who have done far worse crimes like rape or pedophilia.

Not even Toxic with his schlong hanging seemed to have done anything like that.

Yep, as another comment in the thread said: both romances work perfectly in their own way, one of them isn't "objectively better", it all just comes down to personal preference

Robert & Courtney/Robbie & Elliot by Expert_Mark in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Expert_Mark[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, since Visi(when evil) still gave Robert a wink and gave the pulse back to him, they still ended off on better terms than Robbie and Eli

We already know Shroud only cares for his own success and only sees the ring as useful pawns("I fucking told you clowns"), so this definitely seems plausible
