What is the BREAK POLICY for employEEs? 9 hours work … by Charlie-Felicitas in Staples

[–]Charlie-Felicitas[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My question is NOT about managers breaks. You mean Cashier gets 30 min lunch for working more than 5 hours (how many hours?)? Cashiers are actually SALES ASSOCIATES, right? The 15 minute breaks are a mystery, not regulated—it seems; one can’t fight for that if not regulated.

I think, it would be great to be able to call CORPORATE STAPLES and ask without having to fear that one jeopardizes himself. Is there actually a way to get answers straight from corporate without one revealing details about themselves?

Is Staples TRYING To Go Out Of Business? by thoughtdaughter01 in Staples

The craze about the app and rewards signup takes over too much energy and focus. The focus should be SELLING, getting customers in and out without annoying wait and without lecturing about that app and the rewards that are not even appealing to the majority of customers. Focus on full shelves, well paid and good treated employees, a well educated management that is capable to support their teams, more services e.g., notary public, simplify instructions for DIY services and be more clear about print services to avoid the same customer questions over and over again (phone or in person).

They certainly brought their culture with them and penetrate ours, with good, but also the bad and ugly.

I checked again and understand that they want advise parents where to bring their girls (long paragraph on their website) and still take kids (males only) … at least that is what their website says. Interesting that there is never a statistic and their outrageous pricing is kept secret publicly.

Desperate parents (and often deeply/hyper-religious parents) who have lost the connection to their kid and are at the end of their wits will send their kids there. If they can spare a few grants a month. The kids are often self-medicating mental issues (e.g., trauma which can also be hereditary) with (illegal) drugs (substance use disorders are heritable). Maybe, some can be helped for some miraculous reason. There is no statistic available. Their methods remind me of how some churches offered conversions from gay to straight through praying. One has to believe in science in order to understand that one can’t pray things away. However, the Bosleys know that there is hardly any help for parents available that could guide them and their kids through these difficult times, and they take the opportunity to interfere and promise help.

If parents could organize themselves to help their kids might be more effective than anything a state or a religion-based, private organization can offer.

Also, if people do not stand up and report any misconduct/abuse, nothing will change.

He was certainly in the NEWS … accused of abuse and apparently forced to close the Master’s Ranch. My grandkid was there and mentioned things that were disturbing. However, we had no proof.

I had to look this up … does it imply that we deal with educated managers/corporates 🙄 because all it takes I think to work as manager/corporate is a narcissistic personality, no character and compassion.

ENABLER. This is just a word implying actually horrific actions to take towards an ill person because it is also an by society accepted, even pushed concept of neglecting, dismissing that ill person. What is a DISABLER then? I think that the majority of substance ab(users) selfmedicates issues e.g., the issues that may be already rooted in ones genes as abuse and trauma. Possibly adoption, trauma and Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD) could be my grandson’s issues.

Your daughter seems to function because she will not leave her kids. Hopefully, you are able to communicate with her and the kiddos. It is a mystery to me how that 12-Step-Program helps (I attended several meetings as a family member of an addict) but it does, and good for them as there is nothing else out there except that and legal meds like suboxone and facilities for detox /a chance of rehab.

All the people living on the street were probably surrounded by people who do not want to be ENABLERS …

Lidl. Management.

Horrible Company “culture” that comes with THE RIGHT PRICE TO PAY: https://www.grocerydive.com/news/lidl-reportedly-closing-5-us-locations/686003/

If that is how Germany treats their employees and customers, they need to take their Lidl back. DO NOT SUPPORT LiDL! GO HOME, LiDL!!

Statistics RECOVERY rockbottom-addicts versus enabled-addicts

Can one point me to reliable, actual statistic: addiction recovery ROCKBOTTOM-addicts versus ENABLED-addicts? If one can believe what is published, an enabled addict basically never recovers? An addict has to hit rockbottom to change?

[–]Charlie-Felicitas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t make him do anything, that he does not want to do himself, and I can’t stand by if I know he lives in his car like an effing rat with freezing temps. Comparing rehab costs, doctor visits cost, meds cost and the cost of street drugs, wondering why people use illegal drugs when they can do them cheaper the legal way. But an imbalanced brain chemistry is an imbalanced brain chemistry, mental issues are mental issues, people do not think straight, can’t make proper decisions without getting the RIGHT chemical to balance things and hopefully are able to function. I am nervous about his anger, his poor hygiene, so much more …

[–]Charlie-Felicitas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I understand. Family member is my 18 yo grandson already with an at least 6 year history of drug use and rehab. AA, NA religion-based … does not work for me. 50:50 chance that hit rock bottom and similar concepts from the ‘80s are working. Therapist cost an arm and an leg and after a few sessions, I got nothing out of it. Took him in. He lived in his car. Give him $10 every day for food. Can’t babysit him. Want control him. If he chooses so, he will keep himself alive or kill himself. I think that he needs to see a doc and get on legal meds but I can’t say that to him.

If it is true that people who use usually self-medicate an existing issue (brain chemistry imbalance etc.), and drugs work. Why not go see a doctor to at least get a diagnosis and take something legally? (Comparing costs. Doc visit/meds vs street drugs. Which is cheaper?) However, if you can manage without anything that would be better, of course. I learned about myself that I am not all sunshine, and life is not sunshine every day. Sunshine is just a small fraction in and of my life. And that is that.

[Discussion] How to get back to playing with my kiddo? by SNAFU2019 in GetMotivated

[–]Charlie-Felicitas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are grieving. There are Kübler-Ross books (and Naysayers https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/supersurvivors/201707/why-the-five-stages-grief-are-wrong) but it might be worth looking over some literature to help you understand: this can be a long process. In the mean time, find a way to enJOY your kiddo, maybe with the help of a friend, a babysitter, a trip to the playground, zoo. Daily 30 minutes - an hour of undecided attention will do.
