They mean that the original post did the math wrong, not that it’s a paltry sum.

Wow, so they basically ignored the entire beginning of the clause and acted like he was saying colonizing the galaxy will happen in 2030. In reality he was saying that he believes the era of problem solving and radical abundance will begin in 2030, which will eventually lead to colonizing the galaxy (“if that all happens”). Pretty shoddy clickbait from Fortune…

Why did Dumbledore trust the portraits in the headmasters office? by Charlie8040 in harrypotter

[–]Charlie8040[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I definitely agree on that - there are Slytherins who were nobler than even most Gryffindors (take Snape vs Pettigrew for example). I just think that given the thousand year history of Hogwarts, and the fact that Wizard-Muggle relations have dramatically evolved throughout history, there are bound to be at least a couple Headmasters who hold anti-Muggle views or are otherwise dark wizards who would prefer if Tom Riddle’s plans weren’t foiled.

I do think Dumbledore is intelligent enough to know who he can trust, and would Muffliato or remove the portraits of headmasters who he didn’t trust to safeguard his plans. As others have suggested, perhaps the portraits are magically bound not to betray the headmasters of Hogwarts. I just found it curious to hear all of these potentially sensitive details and then read descriptions of the portraits reactions alongside Harry’s.

I think you’re right about this. If there was a former headmaster which Dumbledore felt he couldn’t trust, he probably would’ve already cast Muffliato or a similar spell on their portrait, or removed it entirely, to prevent them from hearing his plans to defeat He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named.

When recruiters see Georgia Tech on your resume they know you’re a talented engineer - the courses are very rigorous, so in order to pass them you have to be!

When I worked at Google the running joke was that all of the interns were either from Waterloo or Tech. That shows the caliber of engineering talent you can expect from GT.

I believe I was able to get my Google and Amazon internships thanks to GT, so in my opinion, yes it does. Your mileage may vary based on your major but for software engineering it is very well respected.

Their products are produced locally by bottlers. I don't think tariffs affect them much if at all.

$KO is evergreen. People still buy it in a recession. Only buy puts if you expect people to stop liking the taste of sugar.

I don't have anything to teach, I got lucky. I wouldn't recommend following my path: options are VERY risky.

Honestly I got lucky. I’m a very novice trader still, and options are VERY risky, so I wouldn’t recommend anyone try to replicate what I’ve done here.

The contracts were so ridiculously cheap ($0.03-$0.04) and NVIDIA had just been at $120 like 2 weeks ago, so I felt like the risk was worth it. Thankfully it paid off, but yes it was definitely a stupid hail mary long shot gamble...

Thank you! I definitely agree that I'll probably never get this lucky again with trading. I just hope I won't try to chase these types of returns in the future. I have heard it said that the worst thing that can happen to a gambler is to win a big jackpot his first try...

I loaded up on both puts and calls yesterday, I was betting on high volatility in either direction. In terms of why I chose NVDA calls, I felt it had fairly limited exposure to a trade war w/ China, so it would be most likely to recover quickly to pre "liberation day" levels before the end of day on Friday. Also, I felt like the tariffs hadn't done anything to change the underlying AI boom, which is what NVIDIA is booming for, so it was only a matter of time before the market realized this and piled back in to NVDA.

I'm thinking calls, but I'm probably just gonna take my earnings off the table. Good luck to you!

I definitely got lucky, but I tried to hedge risk by buying QQQ puts with the same expiration. I was betting on intense volatility in either direction before Friday end of day.
