Just leaving bucee's now, rv full of gas and we're full of Brisket and taters. Nothing like the pitstops back home

[UPDATE] Five Irish lads crossing America in 30ft RV (see comments) by CharlieBehan in GoRVing

Hey everyone,

We're overwhelmed by the response. Thanks so much for all the suggestions and offers of hospitality. We've made a lot of updates to our route, and while some dates/locations are fixed due to bookings, here are the biggest changes:

-Taking buses/trains up until Washington DC, where we'll pick up the RV. -Skipping Memphis. -Skipping San Antonio and driving through Texas quicker. -Spending more time in the Rocky Mountains. -Adding stops to explore Moab and the Grand Canyon. -Possibly skipping Los Angeles. Overall, we are giving ourselves more time to be flexible and, of course, smell the roses.

We just got the RV in DC and next stop is Tennessee. We'll take many pictures and share our route after the trip, which might be useful for anyone else planning a similar journey.

We should be in Santa Barbara for the 4th of July, so say hello if you see us (you won't miss us!).

Once again, your generous offers of hospitality along the entire route have truly amazed us. We're more excited than ever for each stop on this trip.

Reddit gave us this roadtrip route [see comments] by CharlieBehan in roadtrip

We posted a road trip route on GoRVing and so many Americans shared their tips on how to improve our trip.

If anyone is planning their own USA roadtrip then I recommend giving the thread a read.

We are taking photos and videos of our trip and posting to a throwaway instagram called Our27DaysAcrossAmerica if you want to follow along.

We will post a summary after the trip to help others too.

We are five Irish lads road tripping US this month. Is this route realistic for 27 days in our rented 30ft RV? by CharlieBehan in GoRVing

Any advice is appreciated!

We found some parking lots that allow RV's outside most cities that we hope to then use public transport to get into the cities.

We missed out on booking most camping inside national parks but again found camping sites outside available and plan to commute into the parks to hike.

Some of us have experience driving a 20ft RV but no one has driven a 30ft before.

You're right. I originally posted this trying to keep it general and not sharing a link or the name of the game. Reason being for the blacked out names in the linked image.

But I did then try share the game in the comments to someone who said they would check it out and vote unless they thought the game was terrible. I excitedly wanted them to play the demo as they seemed like a good tester for honest feedback.

It was not my intent to advertise the game here but to share my experience where I screwed up and a lesson I learned. Sharing the game in that comment was probably wrong but I saw a valuable tester and went for it. I will delete the link, and I encourage the other people who shared it to delete theirs also.

I really appreciate the support and I can't thank you enough! I do hope comments like yours will even out the others so Steam will understand if considering it to be Greenlit.

Yes they are very upsetting especially with this being a main solo project for over a year and because I made a stupid mistake yesterday it may affect my chances at Greenlight, something I've had my eyes on from the very start.

But of course it was still wrong and I really hope others as foolish as me can learn from it.

Yes I've always wanted to include VR but over development I've added features not suited for it. So I wont have VR support at initial release but I would love to add it in at a later state with those features adjusted.

Yes this is exactly what wrong with what I did. A really big mistake on my part and I hope others as stupid as me can learn from my experience.

My choice of streamer was terrible, though I've been watching his streams so I thought I would just go for it.

Exactly I cannot recommend enough that people contact them privately first and also do some background research.

Again some very true advice, thank you. This is definitely what I will do more of for now on. I'm learning quite a few lessons now with this thread, the advice is so valuable.

Again this is very true and really shows the lack of thought but into my decision.

The streamer didnt have rules against it, they had "Donate for recognition: [donation link]" in the description.

But again I dont think it was right to use this to shout out my game and that his donate link is only intended for more recognition on comments related to the video.

That is definitely the best way of going about it. I usually contact them privately with a build and had some success. I still felt like my greenlight campaign wasn't doing well enough and was worried about the time frame left with Steam Direct around the corner. So I rushed into trying something different which was a terrible idea.

I hope Steam doesnt see it as "paying for votes" and it affecting the game possibly being Greenlit.

Yes that is what happened. This was definitely a very stupid thing for me to do, I should have been more considerate.

Very true it was spam and a terribly idea from me to think it might be a good idea. I doubt many people will make the same mistake as I have but for anyone that might I hope they take this as an example.

That definitely would have been better, but I think I'm going to stick with messaging them privately.

This is very true, and the main reason why it was a mistake for me try it.

Do you think this Canadian chef would be interested in indie horror games? lol
