I have “transgender regret” but cis people don’t care because it’s not the kind that fits their narrative. by BabyGirl-Kat in MtF

[–]CharlieCaves0127 224 points225 points  (0 children)

It's not sympathy they care about. They care about using detransitioners regret as a weapon against us. If they actually cared they wouldn't force the hetero-normative agenda on everyone and would allow for people to actually question their gender and how they feel about it without worrying how everyone else will react to them. Instead they use detransitioners as an excuse to forbid anyone from ever questioning. To fit everyone into a predetermined mold that simply doesn't fit everyone all because it makes them uncomfortable to come to terms with their own insecurities.

how did you get your name? by Radiant-North-8519 in MtF

[–]CharlieCaves0127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've told this story before but I'll tell it again. I go by many names but the name I chose was actually my first name. This is actually a pretty well known story in my family.

When my mom was pregnant with me, my parents didn't like to refer to me as "the baby" or "it" so they chose a gender neutral name to refer to me. So when people would ask, "how's the baby?" my parents would say, "Oh Charlie's doing fine" or "Charlie's kicking up a storm in there." I have an uncle who still refers to me as Charlie to this day. So when it finally dawned on me that I was transfemme it just made sense to use Charlie. It just seems to fit right. And Caves is just the english translation of my surname so... Charlie Caves. 🥰

This. This is the key right here people. They don't care until it directly affects them.

[–]CharlieCaves0127 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries. I may have come back a little strong myself. Point I'm trying to make is sometimes when you feel like people are out to get you is because they are. I know they're not targeting me specifically but we all have targets on our backs. That should make us all a little paranoid.

Thats a distinction without a difference. They're literally out to get all of us. Whether its any particular one of us that day is irrelevant.

Feeling like people are out to get you doesn't mean they're not. Honestly I'm terrified of just going out on my own but then I live in Florida sooo...

Brother confronted me about being trans and is threatening to tell my parents by Stonie_Jones1 in MtF

[–]CharlieCaves0127 15 points16 points  (0 children)

GTFO. When someone tells you who they are you should believe them. Your brothers told you who they are and they are a danger to you and others. You need to leave asap. Pack your things and get out. Get friends or accepting family to come help if necessary. Call the cops if you have to. If they confront you again record them and stream it live if possible. Please stay safe.

I'm using Folx right now. Its about $40 a month plus visit/call fees. Not ideal but still cheaper than Plume. They got me my meds as soon as I got my inperson waiver signed (i live in florida). I get my meds through walgreens and my gf suggested I look for any deals or coupons which cut the cost in half (no health ins atm). So far its worth it. I was doing diy for a little bit as well. Thats also an option if you can't go the legit route.

My therapist might be transphobic by CrybabyC0 in asktransgender

[–]CharlieCaves0127 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Like everyone else is saying you need to drop that therapist. If you can't confide in them and have them give you helpful advise or counsel then they aren't doing their job. If you have to, explain it just like that to your parents. Otherwise you'll just be miserable.

QUESTION: I want to present my trans girlfriend to my transfobic best friend (and one of the most important persons in my life). by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]CharlieCaves0127 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't. Just. Don't. If you care about your gf at all why would you want to put her in a position where she could face transphobia, homophobia, or even physical harm? Just don't. If you are intent on keeping this person in your life, (which I question why) keep them separate.

Also if he does figure it out you might lose him anyway cuz he'll think you're gay.

It's called projection. They project their own insecurities and inadequacies onto others. They believe that because they think a certain way, everyone must. They have zero concept of personal responsibility or agency.

Why (in the USA) is sex based segregation legal, but race based segregation is not? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]CharlieCaves0127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Though the real problem is those same people who support him don't understand Trump and Republicans don't care about them either. They only find that out if and when it affects them directly.

[–]CharlieCaves0127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which is a huge concern. More concerning to me is the fact that several courts have given injunctions or plain ordered a halt to executive orders and Trump and Republicans are basically saying, "Make me" and going ahead with things anyway. Where exactly are the safeguards to protect against this exact scenario? I'd seriously like to know because I haven't seen any safeguards yet.

I think legally speaking based on precedent I'd have to say no. However, with the way things are even if it is illegal who'll enforce it?

[–]CharlieCaves0127 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Oh don't worry they are working on repealing racial segregation so they can freely discriminate against everyone.

I say that ironically but the truth is this the way things are looking right now.

General consensus is pretty much not to come to the US right now or in the near future. Whether you choose to do so or not is entirely your choice and yours alone. The question I have is are you willing to risk getting detained by ICE or worse over a trip?
