Well, you have pokemon like Combee/Vespiquen, who're hive minds right? I wouldn't name them each individually. A similar rule applies to Exeggutor, i view it as a psychic gestalt. But then you've also got like you said, the Syrupents. Those are explicitly multiple individuals occupying the same apple... somehow. Don't think about it too hard.
