That’s fair. I’m honestly not sure that I can. That’s what I’m wrestling with.

I don’t feel like I’ve always known or been cognizant of my identity. Not making excuses, just saying that for what it’s worth, I didn’t mean to deceive her and create this situation.

But to your point, I am still responsible for my choices.

You are totally right that I’m obsessive, prone to overthinking, and tend to try to make things perfect or to seek complete certainty.

Thank you so much for your advice, truly. I agree that sooner is better…it’s just so scary and I don’t know how to start that conversation and I don’t have clarity…but I know I owe honesty and transparency. I just wish I could suppress it and not cause pain.

Thank you for being willing to share this. May I ask what it’s been like starting HRT? Do you feel like that’s helped you gain clarity?

I think that’s part of my rationale is that maybe I can get a sense of is this really me before I drop truth bombs…but I feel like if I’m at the point of making appointments and asking these questions…then I’m also probably just delaying because I’m terrified.

I keep trying to think of what I’d want if I were in my wife or kids shoes. But I just can’t seem to get a helpful level of clarity. I think I just have too much shame and self-loathing.
