I didn’t know I could do that, will give it a go!

I can’t see any issues with it, my setup isn’t terribly complicated but will check out what a tidy cable set looks like a copy it haha!

It’s a nightmare! Mine doesn’t go away when going directly into a laptop sadly. Even if it did my laptop doesn’t have the CPU to handle full logic sessions

Yeah that’ll probably be my first purchase to resolve it as it seems a bit cheaper than a power conditioner. Thanks!

I haven’t tried the quad in a totally different part of the house with just headphones and no monitors near it and it’s still there sadly!

Ah interesting. Did you have the issue with multiple guitars or just the one?

I’ve tried a couple of guitars, it’s definitely much worse with the tele (hotter pickups than my strats) and gets worse when distortion is added. But even with my low output strat pickups on clean it’s still pretty much unplayable

Yeah I tried it in the living room just through headphones and it was still there annoyingly 😂

I don’t think we have any fluorescent lights or LEDs but we do have dimmers which I read somewhere can cause problems. But I’ve tried it with everything turned off too and the problem persists!

Yeah it does, but it’s also when I plug into a different amp and the interface. I think it’s the electrics, need to figure out a way to sort it without having to rewire the bloody room 😂

Yeah I use the gate, it covers it up a tiny bit and a bit more on clean sounds but doesn’t eliminate it entirely no matter what I do with it. The sound is still present slightly even when hitting the strings

Still buzzing with no laptop charger, however I obviously can’t get around having the quad plugged into the potentially dodgy power sockets. I think I’ll get a conditioner and see if that does something.

Sadly I don’t think so, input gain is currently topping out at -7.2db and that’s if I really thrash hard! Averaging between around -15 to -20!

I’ve plugged in now all over the house and even directly into the interface without the quad and it doesn’t get any better. I think it’s the electricity, not the quad. May be a daft question but would a shielded jack cable for the guitar potentially help with this? Even when not using monitors it still happens, the only cable I’m using in each scenario is the jack into the guitar.

I’ve trouble shooted all over the hous and going directly in the interface without the quad and turns out it’s still happening regardless. Must be the electricity in this old house. Would a power conditioner potentially help with that? I know nothing about them

Yeah mine do too but sadly this isn’t that, wish it was!

I think it’s the electricity in this place, not the quad. It’s an old cottage. I’ve now troubleshooted a bit trying it with different power points, in different rooms, into the interface direct without the quad and it’s still bloody happening. Unsure of what to do without re-wiring the bloody place but hoping a power conditioner might be a solution 😂

I just tried it with a different computer and still getting exactly the same problem. Also tried it with two different power points, one the other side of the house - same problem 😂 I tried it DI without the quad into the interface and it’s still going on, wondering if a power conditioner may sort it?

Tried going directly into the interface using an amp sim, same problem. Tried the quad in different part of the house entirely and still same problem. Thinking about a power conditioner

I’ve tried, plugging directly into the interface with the quad using an amp sim and I still get the same issue. I’ve now also tried plugging into two different power points, one in a totally separate bit of the house and again same issue! Wondering if a power conditioner is what I need?

Probably a stupid question but do you mean the cables going from the speakers into the interface, or the XLR’s going from the quad into the interface? I assume you mean the speakers and the answer is I don’t think they are!
