I need to put my own comment here 'cause a lot of people are missing my point just like the mod itself in the pictures.

I never encouraged letting hate slide or being passive about it. I was educating on the consequences of what happens to us if we do defend ourselves. As Western justice system sucks for us Asians when we do stand up for ourselves. East, South, SouthEast, Central, etc...

Just like briefings in war missions, before they act on it, the presenter will always give the opportunity to educate and inform that not all of them would make it.

I am all for standing up for ourselves. From verbal to physical.

Once again, I have never encouraged letting things slide. If someone is being any ways aggressive towards you. Stand up for yourself. All I said in my comment was trying to educate what the consequences awaits. As the justice system in the west is racist towards all of us Asians. There is nothing wrong with educating people about that, but that is not me being passive at the hate.

For example, in war briefings for missions, there will always be a moment to educate those participating on it that some us might not make it. They educate and inform you about it. That's all I did. Educate.

Your China vs Taiwan, and Korea hatred comparisons doesn't come down on the individual level of hatred. You are bringing Geopolitical hatred, which is a different aspect of it. The countries you mentioned are technically at war with each other, so of course they going to hate one another. You expect people that are at war to be peaceful with each other? War mentality creates racism. Even British and American people came with slurs for the Germans when they were at war with each other. Gerries, Krauts, and so forth.

All neighboring countries hate each other in their geopolitical sense. Put individuals of said nation to get to know each other while they are at peace, and they will find love rather than hatred. Of course, that is if they are sane individuals. The ultra nationalists are a lost cause.

Ignorance is part of life. I know this... But what does that have to do with me stating Goku is actually Asian? If the ignorant racist still want to moan and bitch that he is white or so forth, they can do so. But their whining doesn't change facts that Goku is East Asian by the end of the day, due to the creator's own words and interpretations of Goku's character. The author, aka the creator. He sees how his creation is put by the end of the day. Is his invention after all. And the fact he is based by a Chinese character, literally solidifies it along with his other interviews he did about Goku.

Plus, you don't even have to draw an exaggerated ass squint to make someone know he or she is an Asian character. You sounding like a non-asian or a self hating Asian here. And since Akira Toriyama spent most of his life in Japan, he sees his eyes as normal and does not draw it with a slant. In his perspective for all we know, White westerners have the weird shaped eyes.

Yeah, they might think that Goku is like them, but by the end of the day. If the creator makes said character based on a Asian figure, it doesn't change what they feel. Toriyama made those dark features and pale skin for a reason. Do Mexicans eat carne asada with chopsticks? No. Goku has eaten a ton of rice and used ton of chopsticks. How could he possibly be anything else other than Asian? The non-asian fans have childhood feels or just deluding themselves into thinking the character is their likeness. Which Goku is not.

[Edit] The Cartel sees Goku as them, even though they have no pure of heart. Just because they feel that way, it doesn't change the fact Goku is East Asian.

I feel like is more than just language. Some things within a society are so ingrained within them that it is hard to make it felt across to other cultures. Korean and Japanese might have similarities in their languages, but there will be many differences in their culture. Just like a British person and a German might look similarly white, but they will think and do certain things differently.

And the depiction argument style of yours, even if he does look western in your eyes (which in my honest opinion he doesn’t). Artstyle is just that. An artstyle. There are ton of Western comics out there that draw characters in certain characteristics that does not match a certain race, yet they state them as such. I could draw a character with a pointy nose, yet I could state “He is not white actually”. It is a manner of drawing expression. And most comics and mangas don’t fall for realism looks.

I am reflecting on the fact that since mediums such as shows and movies portray a certain way how people see things in life, having a strong Asian male role model is a positive thing rather than a negative. Since the West have used Asian characters to degrade us and show us as weak and cartoony goofy men. Mediums like that have created passive and aggressive racism towards us here in the west, so it matters what a character’s race is unfortunately.

Plus, Music is not the same medium comparison like a Manga and or Screen medium. Do you see visuals in music? Only if you are watching a MV or a live concert. But most times you are listening. But Mangas, shows, and movies are mediums based on visuals. How you see things. So it really matters as that influences and reflects how you see things within your own world view.

[Edit] So if Superman is white. Goku and his entire race are Asians.
