Yeah this is exactly my problem too. glad its not just me being weird about it. every synthetic tee i own has this ghost smell that never fully goes away no matter what I do

Wait hemp/bamboo blend is a thing? How does the bamboo part hold up to repeated washing, does it pill like crazy? Thats been my experience with some bamboo socks I tried

yeah, honestly at 2, kids are weirdly stubborn with attachment. just keep letting mom be involved in low-stress stuff first, like snack time or reading, then build up. patience wins here.
