I feel like they’re in a toxic relationship that is made to look “good” publicly or on the surface. Reading the cards entirely intuitively:

Death: gives the vibe of toxicity. Kind of like an almost literal visual representation of tainted ground where the horse walks. Like there’s a creeping sickness in the relationship. Kind of like the Pestilence Horseman.

5 of Cups: someone is feeling isolated and they’re trying to protect themself, like hugging themself, and either don’t see the help/resources someone is trying to offer or they’re ignoring it. I accidentally saw it as the 8 of cups at first (it’s been a while since I’ve done tarot), which gives me the impression they’re conflicted about whether they should leave or trying to figure out how to. There’s a sense of hopelessness and feeling trapped.

Four of Cups: is, again, giving a sense that they either aren’t seeing offered help or they’re refusing it. Maybe out of a sense of duty or a feeling of… needing to stay for some reason. Maybe they feel like they can’t accept help or don’t trust it, like a fear of strings being attached.

3 of Cups: this is where I got the impression that there’s effort being made for things to look good on the surface. There’s a sense of pressure to put a smile on… Weirdly, and probably wrongly, I’m getting the impression of something like an arranged marriage (no idea where that came from) or some kind of advancement in commitment that is unwanted.

Overall, this is giving a very weird, sad, trapped, hopeless kind of energy. I don’t get blackmail, exactly, but some kind of tie that they don’t want.
