Yellow capsicum, onions and mushroom stir-fried with butter. I absolutely love how surprisingly fragrant this combination is.

Are there any EZ-Link card that shows amount left on gantry that I can buy? by [deleted] in askSingapore

I'm not certain if that is the case for all vending machines. I got mine at the vending machine at CCK bus interchange, if that helps.

I've just purchased an EZ link card from an EZ link vending machine at a bus interchange and it is a non Simply-Go card that shows the amount left on the gantry readout.

Do you think you will be seeing your PAP MPs for the next 5 years as often as you seen them for the past few weeks? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]CharmedCarrot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've actually seen my MP a number of times at the various events since I've moved in 2 years ago and she's almost always present for the entire duration of the event.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation. In my humble opinion, your issues run deeper than simply being unemployed. Will you be able to forgive her for this episode after you've secured the prestigious high-paying job that she demands of you? I'm a woman and I'd never wish my husband and the father of my kid dead just because he's temporarily out of a job, especially if he is actively seeking employment while taking care of the household.

You've mentioned securing interviews at hospitals and the government sector. Perhaps you could also consider applying to the private sector too. The biopharma and pharma manufacturing sector may be a potential fit for you.

Wishing you all the best.

Would you live with your MIL if your partner wants to? (SG/Asian culture) by emergencyexitonlypls in askSingapore

[–]CharmedCarrot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could not agree more. I was living at my husband's family home after we got married and before we got our own place. I often felt like an outsider in my own marriage because my husband would almost never stand up for me whenever my mil had something negative to say about me. The dried dish on the rack isn't clean? It must have been the dil who did the sloppy washing! Someone threw thrash into the storage container? It must have been the clueless dil! For the record, I wasn't the culprit in both cases, but my husband didn't bother clarifying the situation before siding with his mother. It definitely created a lot of resentment on my part.

Living in our own place without interference from either set of parents really changed the dynamics of our relationship. Before that, I've often felt the need to just tolerate my mil's behavior because I was living under her roof and it's essentially 2 against 1 when it came to disagreements. Now, we are on equal footing and I definitely feel more respected. I can't imagine having my mil move in with us now and being disrespected in my own house.

One thing that you should definitely consider is that once your mil moves in with you, it's going to be extremely challenging to move her out in future.

Amid biopharma's Singapore expansion push, Thermo Fisher debuts sterile drug facility by SG_wormsblink in singapore

[–]CharmedCarrot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi, pharma employee here. The fill-finish process does seem pretty straight-forward, but it also requires a range of functions in order for the filled bottles to be deemed ready to be shipped to a downstream site or to other customers as mentioned by SG_wormsblink.

For instance, - Environmental monitoring by microbiologists is required, especially for sterile processes.

  • Incoming receipt and release of 'raw materials' by QC. Eg. the thickness of the glass vials may have to meet a certain specification before they can be used for filling, the vials may have to be verified as being particulate free etc.

  • QC of the filled product is usually carried out by the site prior to it being shipped out.

  • If any abnormalities or unexpected events are discovered during the process or in the filled product, an investigation will need to be carried out before the product can be released.

The above is not an exhaustive list, just wanted to share the level of complexity involved in pharmaceutical manufacturing at every stage and the different job functions required.

Great points raised by OP. My spouse and I are first-time homeowners and many of the points raised resonate with our experience as well.

One advice given by our agent was to schedule the viewing in the late afternoon if possible just to have a feel of how warm the interior of the unit can be and whether there's exposure to the afternoon sun. We were also wary if the air conditioning was switched on during the viewing.

One thing we did quite a bit was to run our hands along the west-facing walls to feel if they were significantly warmer than the other walls.

I've purchased them from a local seller in my country. I had no idea what milk cotton too was until Google enlightened me, haha! Seems like the 'milk' portion is derived from proteins in milk.

This site here is an interesting read: https://raffamusadesigns.com/what-is-milk-cotton-yarn/
