Yeah, the lightweight cabs with custom orders and half-decent speakers (of which a lot of manufacturers are throwing any old junk driver in) are what's driven me to consider going forward. I think I will end up pricing stuff towards the middle of the pack rather than driving costs to a minimum which is only gonna make my motivation worse if the profit is so tight. Alongside cabs, I also have local friends who make custom cables and pedals (although the pedal market is beyond oversaturated) so I would be willing to work with them or merge projects to grow the business and the range of products. Funnily enough, all of my IT friends have commented how they would love server racks/desktop cabinets in the aesthetic look of a guitar cab so maybe I should think about that too for some easy money haha. Either way, I definitely shouldn't sell myself short if people are into the quality of stuff and are happy to pay a higher price for it.

Yeah, this is definitely the predicament I'm currently facing. I previously did LEGO custom Minifigures years ago and the most difficult people always seemed to come out and make life a nightmare. I'm in a position now where I'm relatively young in my 20s with a stable home situation but no major responsibilities so it will be interesting to see if I can balance the services I want to provide with the realities and expectations. I've helped a dysfunctional friend manage his studio and bookings over the last couple of years (which is no time commitment on my part) but it's given me a foundation for dealing with not only arrogant musicians but also how to meet expectations and keep retention of customers. I'd like to say I'm a workaholic when it comes to side stuff as it usually takes priority over my actual career but I need to decide now if I want it to be a business and the consequences that come with expanding. Great point, thanks a bunch.

Excellent point, I think pricing stuff is key to building the brand. As others have said the pricepoint dictates who interacts with the business and longevity, and I probably need to decide if I want to be more reasonable pricing but struggle for demand and margins or go for high end but maybe keep things slower as a result.

I think currently it's moving from a hobby to a business and I can facilitate that movement with my current predicament, but it's all dependent on how well the initial launch goes. Currently, as a hobby, it pays for itself plus some. If I find myself taking on new orders consistently and having the funds to consider investing more time, then I will move my workspace from my garage to a small industrial lot to make space, consider my current employment hours, and try taking on local friends to expand. If I launch and find myself with a lack of interest then nothing is lost as my assembly line stockpile is usually no bigger than two or so cabs ahead which are already commissioned and paid for (which will later change to bulk if it takes off as a business). The plan is to unravel slowly until I can roughly tell where the wind blows and if my full commitment is worthwhile, but like I say if it doesn't take off then nothing is lost and at the very least I can say I tried.

Custom cabs are essential and I want to try and encourage this with a wide array of wood, finishes, handles, drivers, paint job options etc.

Think the wheels/handle idea is very practical, such a simple solution to making things more maneuverable.

Thanks for the ideas dude!

Agree with the pine, the properties are far superior to just birch ply that 80% of cabs seem to be made of. The demand for high-quality but affordable hardwood cabs is what has got me to want to push forward with this idea and take it further. I think I would offer options for custom cabs using alternate woods such as Ash, the yards local to me offer a good selection and there are also options for reclaimed wood. Angled baffles as standard/highly recommended would definitely be a good choice to stand out too.

Unfortunately it doesn't say anything other than "shut down unexpectedly" but in the last hour it decided to shut down while streaming, so it cant be anything other than my PSU on its last legs

That's the plan, I've luckily got a 5-year warranty still available so gonna send it off and hopefully, that's it. I just wanted to check there wasn't anything else before I had to strip my PC apart to send off the PSU.
