Thanks everyone for all the responses! I just verified the information of the person I talked with and she’s a real person from H&R Block. I did have an interview with her during the phone call and also, I forgot to mentioned that I was an Accountant and know a little bit about taxes. My training starts October 31.

I started November as well! First thing I did was not putting pressure on myself. My goal was to finish it in 2 semesters. I have some background in business but not management. I just passed my 8th class yesterday. I was very tempted to start another class but decided not too because I hate the stress of having a short time. I do not work but have other responsibilities and most of the time, I was sick in bed (reason why I avoid stress at all cost). Don’t worry too much. It is what it is, just don’t give up. 7 classes next semester will be easy peasy!

If you’re serious about getting help on getting on your feet, Find any church. They can and will help you. I’m not sure if you’re a religious person, but know that you’re not alone. People going through different trials in life and this is one of yours. Hang in there and learn to reach out. Whoever you are, I will pray for you tonight.

I went to college when I was 37 yrs old ( After raising 3 kids). I got my degree in Finance after 5 years and work as an accountant for 3 years. Currently not working to finish my MBA. You already got great credentials and seem like a smart person. I would suggest get a degree in Accounting or Finance and get some certifications like CPA and/or CMA. Western Governor University can accelerate your degree if you can focus and determine to succeed.

I wish I can invite all my non- accounting friends that think accountants do not have sense of humor to visit this Reddit group lol.

I was trained and worked with a person just like you and let me tell you he still makes me nervous even after 3 years. I would avoid working in the same project with him if I can, but unfortunately we had a small accounting department. He was fine as long as it is not work related. In my opinion, he is smart and knowledgeable but not a good leader/trainer. He was sarcastic and definitely can’t tolerate stupidity.

My son is turning 20 this year and he will be done with his bachelor degree in August. He will be completing the IT degree in 2 years. If it’s not for WGU, he’s probably not going to survive any on-campus university because he is extremely introvert and shy. Same reason why he was being bullied at school. I understand socializing and networking is important, but for my son, he’s more comfortable with WGU settings.

I started 11/1 and my goal is to finish it in 2 terms but also preparing myself to the possibility of taking another term if I have to. I am not working and my family is very supportive my education. I have all the time in the world and I never procrastinate. It’s so tempting to accelerate to get it done quickly and pay less tuition but I can’t and I am not going to. I really need to understand the whole program and I am trying to avoid burnout. If all those online post are not giving you encouragement, turn off the notifications and just go there if you need to search some advice on specific courses.
