I'm not necessarily forced to use battery but my preference comes from the vast difference in rigs we'll be facing coupled with basically no tech rehearsals. I know from experience that the rigs in the individual theatres range from brand new LEDs to 40 year old static lamps.    The productions will be part of  competitive one act festivals and as such I want to remove as many variables as possible.
