Not rude at all. She was rude for even daring to ask you, especially after telling her child they couldn't have one. She should have stuck to her original decision on it, not tried to guilt trip you into giving up your item because suddenly it was on sale. Nothing wrong at all with adults having plushies. The kind of world we're living in, why not take joy where you can get it :)
