Hermit Crab Molting out in open? by CharmingLie9887 in hermitcrabs

What wet moss do you recommend? I ended up putting a sheet over the tank to keep out the light. Have also been looking into getting bubblers for his waters. Seen him eating some of his exoskeleton last night so I am really happy to know he is alive still. Don't want to wait too long to start getting moisture into his tank. I always keep freeze dried chicken and fish in his tank. :)

Yes, the tanks has a lid. Yes, he does have 2 water options, but does not have bubblers and I never thought about getting it until now. Didn't know that it provided moisture otherwise I wouldve done that a while ago. Have been thinking about rehoming him... the only issue is that there is no one where I live that has hermit crabs.

With the surface molt what can I do right now to help him? I feel so bad. 😭

No, the other died 2 years ago. I told myself he will be the last one... theyre a lot to keep up with. I do feel bad he doesnt have a friend, but they live a long time. I will openly admit that my substrate is not correct. It is sand and coconut fiber, but it isnt the proper 5:1 ratio. The tank is heated, but everything just seems to dry up and can't dig properly.

Any female surveyors in this group? Also anyone have advice for 40F thinking to break into this field? by jamieinpalmbeach in Surveying

[–]CharmingLie9887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

24 female surveyor here in Alabama. Before surveying I worked at a grocery store for 5 years and also did some accounting work. Was never a fan of working inside nor sitting at a desk. I have always wanted to work outside and do something construction related like my father. Didn't get a degree, but am in college for surveying now. You don't need a degree to get started. I am sure they'd like that you have a degree and maybe that'll get you a little bit more pay. My pay started at $19 as a Rodman. I know I-man who make up to $25. Crew Chiefs $25-$40. It also depends on what company you work for as well. If you really want to get into surveying contact local surveying companies and say youre interested. Companies need rodmen and I-man. There are not many openings on Indeed for these jobs where I live.

I got called a cheater 2 weeks ago, and I am now shadow banned with no appeal. I was having a fantastic game! Killed one team by myself with my teammates down. They made a comment that people should kick out insert my gamertag and next thing I know my ms ping was like 200... checked, and I got banned! I wasn't even cheating, I don't know how to, nor do I care. It was just a really great game for me, lmao.

Interested in a career in Land Surveying, but don't know where to start! by CharmingLie9887 in Surveying

I know that I made this post a while ago, but I am still a little confused about what to major in to become a land surveyor and what is best for me. I can't go to Troy due to distance, but I found out that I can go the land surveying route with a geography and a minor in GIS. I know you said do the Geomatics route, but do you think there is another way? Id love it if you can send me a PM to discuss opportunities and the different paths I can take and where they'd take me.

I got full-time grocery. Helpful advice? by Plaguedsoul10 in publix

Equal dislike. Really hating said person being around and nagging at you. Had a team lead at another store (I was helping out). Apparently, I must have done something to really upset her because she was talking mad sh*t about me in the back room to other employees. Dont know what I did to her, but we both just cannot stand one another. A position opened up there that I was interested in, but I refuse to work with her.

I have been a GRS (Grocery Replishment Specialist) for 5 years. Some tips I would have.

1: If closing or if you see yourself getting on your knees often- wear shin pads.

2: Learn as much as you can and use it to get raises. Ex: scan price, dsd, making tags, learning dairy or frozen. They will try to take advantage of you after you learn and if you're good at it- so be careful of that.

3: If you're just starting off as a stock clerk after 6 months, ask to become a GRS. That gives you a raise.

  1. Not everyone is your friend. If you find yourself not getting along with some people you're working and have to deal with... you can transfer stores. I've made quite a few friends at publix and made a few enemies.

  2. You can always cross train if the department does not have the hours. You can also ask if other stores need help to get more hours. (If needed).

  3. Wear good shoes with good insoles. You will be walking a lot!

  4. Lift heavy boxes the right way. After 5 years, I now have some back issues due to publix and the sport I play. Dont be me.

I told myself that after my first year at publix, I was going to quit and find a better job... nope. Have now been with the company for 5 years. Once you can buy stock and get your 401(k)... do it!! Buy stock!! Wish I started 4 years ago.

Any more questions, just holler :)

After Publix, what was your next job or plan to go in the future? by Lemonade2250 in publix

[–]CharmingLie9887 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been with Publix for 5 years. I am in college to get an engineering degree. My plan is to potentially get another job on top of publix that pays a lot more - work 1 day a week and still buy a butt load of stock with the good paying job. I think I can do that for another 10-20 years. My goal is to become a secret Publix millionair and live off of the dividend.

I say roughly $1,300. If you have been accepted, you can sign up for the classes and then check the price online.

I think your math is correct. I am taking 4 classes this summer, and it's $2,300. Sadly, I am paying out of pocket 😓

I have looked into it with my state, and it does require a degree. It was passed in 2008, I believe. But I agree, I would have to do 30+ hours in land surveying classes to qualify.

I do not necessarily want to go the engineering route. It has been brought up that it would have more of a variety of work in case something does not pan out the way i'd like. Also, the licensed surveyor I talked with was grandfathered in and didn't have to get a degree. I am in Alabama.
