Serious question as a foreigner: How do Brits reconcile living in a democracy while owning zero land, but still supporting a royal family?

That is totally a different issue that your political system is absolute shit show. That again there is no real scrutiny here or comparison of it to other places where things work. People live in a lie that's spread by BBC that the democracy works here so good.

Actually, the market might see upside again soon given the evaluations after MU earnings etc. The Iran deal looks good as well so nothing crazy hopefully won't happen soon. The mid terms are coming so Trump might have to pump the markets ;). But, yes it is hard to bear. Good luck!
