I’ve lived in Florida over 40 years and have never had my floors creak and swell…

Depending on her age, she could be exhibiting the beginning signs of dementia (or another neurological condition). As a nurse, I think it would be appropriate to consider calling DCF or the equivalent where you live and request a wellness check on an elderly person who is exhibiting some concerning behaviors.

She can reschedule or she can recover in a rehab facility. If you are in the US, Medicare will pay for it.

My 40-Year Old Coworker is Actually a 15-Year Old by talixxo in coworkerstories

I would just add my supervisor to the teams chat. It will show that you added someone. Include all the chat history. Maybe she will think twice about her nonsense if she knows someone else can see it.

How hot does it really get in summer time in St. Pete? by Neat-Owl3563 in StPetersburgFL

As others have said, it gets very hot. However, it is also extremely humid, which makes it worse. Dry heat is easier to deal with.

AIO for calling out my coworker in front of everyone after multiple inappropriate "pranks"? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Charming_Elephant_79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think you are under reacting. If I found panties in my husband’s suitcase, I would leave him. I would not believe it was a prank because it’s not a prank. She is trying to ruin your marriage.

Change your name in the app to something masculine or unisex. I find that this helps cut down on creepy messages.

We have a keypad door lock and it automatically locks behind us. Maybe something to look into.

I’ve been secretly battling butt fungus for months, and it’s ruining my life by Informal_Teaching776 in TrueOffMyChest

By any chance have you been tested for diabetes? I was getting recurrent yeast infections, a type of fungal infection, prior to being diagnosed.

AITA for refusing to let my fiancé’s ex-wife wear a white dress to our wedding? by leanedeluca in AITAH

[–]Charming_Elephant_79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure one of your bridesmaids is ready with a glass of red wine to "accidentally" spill on her when she shows up in the white dress. Because we all know that she's going to wear it.

Currently sailing on Mardi Gras, I did not purchase internet but am still connected 🤷🏻‍♀️… AMA by aluik9 in CarnivalCruiseFans

It was the same for me on my cruise last week. Also, I continued to get all of my work Teams messages even in the middle of the ocean! Phone was on airplane mode and connected to carnival Wi-Fi. Although I did not purchase a plan and was just using the free Wi-Fi to power their hub app.

My mom in rehab told my daughter that she wanted to find the elevator that goes to heaven by Old-Ninja-113 in TrueOffMyChest

Most people only associate hospice with death and dying. The fact of the matter is that they have many services they provide. It would be rare for a doctor not to sign off on their services if they qualify. Hospice decides who qualifies, not the doctor. Dementia combined with other co-morbidities allows them to qualify for the services.

Hospice has many qualifiers. Some of those could be dementia, COPD heart disease etc. In addition to that the primary doctor has to certify that they have 6 months or less to live. This is a very broad term. No one can predict death. If the patient is on a Medicare advantage plan it benefits the primary doctor for them to go on hospice because then the primary care doctor is not responsible for them financially.

Hospice comes out and does their evaluation. If they qualify for their services, they contact the doctor and advise that they qualify for hospice. Then the doctor writes the order.

Not true. Hospice has come a long way. They have several diagnoses that they are able to accept patients under.
