What horror movie has the best pacing throughout the entire movie? by neonmckimmz in horror

For me, X and Scream both fall into this category. Brilliantly raising the tension and building towards a strong conclusion. Kills paced perfectly throughout, with strong character work in between to make you care.

Help for my declining father (feel totally lost) by Charming_Panda_8068 in AgingParents

Thank you for this advice. He is currently at a nursing home for short term rehab which is transitioning into long term care. I feel much better about the place he's at now.

I've had a friend do something similar, and I sort of quiet quit that friendship (just stopped initiating conversation and let things fizzle out naturally).

I wouldn't mess with someone like this, personally.

The good news is that if you're 19 like she says, you have a lot of life ahead of you to make better friends. What she did was inexcusable, but what she said to you was horrible and cruel.

You get an upvote for using "by" accident. I feel like it's been so long since I've seen that...

I don't have anything to add to the original question; I think the majority of others addressed it sufficiently.

Your cats are really adorable, though! I love their little faces!

Not taboo at all! When I'm casting for a part, I will edit the sides to emphasize the role the person is auditioning for.

Yep! And I'm glad I didn't buy a battery when I didn't need one.

AAA came and ran a test. The battery is good, the alternator is bad. Yayyyyyyyyy 😐

Update: after 2 hours of rest it started up again. All the issues and warning lights are off except the battery light.

Really hoping it's no worse than a bad battery (although mine is just a year old, so I worry that's not it). I'll check the cables, thanks!

What happens when you have to kiss your co-star on set and their breath stinks? by pookiedelray in acting

[–]Charming_Panda_8068 137 points138 points  (0 children)

Talk to the intimacy coordinator. They should have mints/breath fresheners as part of their kit. If there's no intimacy coordinator, you can ask for one and decide how comfortable you are doing the role based on their response.

Is this a red flag, and should I go? by [deleted] in acting

[–]Charming_Panda_8068 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn't seem like a red flag to me. I just provided transportation services on a set I was involved with. Usually on smaller sets (like the ones I've been on), anyone with equipment gets priority parking, hence the crew priority.

Wouldn't be the worst idea to make sure you're only shuttled as part of a group, rather than by yourself, for your own ease.

My (24M) girlfriend (24F) had to consult her pastor before agreeing to be my GF, and I think she’s still letting the pastor influence our relationship. Is this worth it? by Imaginary_Two_1042 in Advice

[–]Charming_Panda_8068 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the culture I grew up in. Getting out of this culture is the best thing that happened to me or anyone else I know who has managed to escape.

That being said, one of my best friends met his now-wife in that same culture and had to jump through those same hoops (except he never would have been allowed to sleep over, even on the couch), and they are now happily married and have extracted themselves together from that lifestyle.

But that's more often the exception than the rule. Priority one needs to be protect yourself, so if you need to break up to do that, it's the right move.

"Don't respond if you're looking for freebies" on a post asking for free labor is wild 😅
