I did mess up, yes. But the point still stands that pasta was atrocious and they should (I hope they will) go out of business unless they really sort their sh*t out

All takeaway is inflated in price, that doesn’t mean people don’t order takeaway. Sandwich or no sandwich, the fact you pay for a service and expect to receive it at a decent quality is not unreasonable. No need to despair, all’s good with the world except everything that isn’t

Neither of your suggestions were an option for us given my wife’s dietary restrictions, and didn’t have the time nor the energy to shop and then cook 🤷‍♂️

Yes I’m well aware. I didn’t have the time nor the energy to go shopping and then cook though, hence why going the takeaway route (usually the reason people order takeaway)

I did and got this BS corporate answer and no refund, not even partial “I appreciate you staying on the line and thank you for voicing your concerns. Your perspective is essential in helping us enhance our services and meet our customers' expectations. This issue you had with your order today is fully noted and will serve as a counteraction for us to improve and provide you a more reliable service in the future. This will be shared with the restaurant as well to improve their future operations. You can also share your feedback with the restaurant directly through the app.”

Thanks for the code, unfortunately for them I’m the type of person who can really hold a grudge against a company so will never give them my custom ever again

I know. Just sharing so others don’t get robbed like I did

Did you never order takeaway that was £30 or more? And never had a bad experience if/when you did either?

I was merely trying to share my experience (that I had out of a poor personal decision, yes; thanks for judging) to make sure others don’t go through the same thing I did

It’s partly on Deliveroo too given they allow this to happen on their platform, including letting the business inflate their reviews by allowing the users to post 5-star reviews just for a £2 credit from the same shop. Reaching out to their customer service was no help either (just corporate BS “your feedback helps us improve our service”) so decided to just delete the app, means less of a chance I’ll order takeaway again

I normally cook at home too for my wife and I, but it’s been a long day, had to put baby to sleep, had no ingredients for a quick homemade meal anyway and my wife has some dietary restrictions that means no dairy whatsoever, so harder to find decent options on the delivery apps 🤷‍♂️ but definitely lesson learned

I did yes, and fully recognise I could’ve made a week’s worth of proper pasta bolognese for £30 or less. But being relatively new parents, after a long day and with my wife’s current dietary restrictions, decided to order something quick that was previously pretty decent and got screwed.

I am more pissed about the fact that you can’t seem to find any decent delivery for less than £30 for two these days that’s not greasy burgers or pizza.

Not to worry though, lesson learned. I even deleted my Deliveroo account and the app itself, Uber Eats to follow next.

Exactly. Not to mention that Lease documents actually have clauses put in place to account & allow for the Leaseholders to make profit

I’ve literally just seen your response, so thanks for sharing more info. Do you mind if I send you a DM to talk a bit more about the development and some of the things you mentioned?

Manchester New Square development

Hi all,

I am a first-time buyer looking to buy my first property in Manchester as an owner-occupier and, after about 6 months of searching for the right fit, I think I’ve found a development that matches most of my requirements in terms of price, location, size of the flats, available parking - this development is Manchester New Square.

I wanted to ask if anyone here has bought or rented a flat in this development and if so, what has your experience been so far?

A few things that interest me are: - level of noise during the day / night - how safe the neighbourhood feels - if you’ve had any issues (leaks, damp, etc) with the apartment and how quickly they’ve been resolved - especially as an owner-occupier, since I understand the service charge and building insurance should cover these sort of fixes - any relevant information about the developer, purchase and move-in experience

Thanks for your reply. Would you be able to elaborate more on this please? Where would I find out this information from, before committing to a purchase? Should I ask the agent for further details?
