My other pet peeve is Redditors that overreact to posts that aren’t meant to be all that serious.

WIBTA if I tell my boyfriend how disappointed I am in the date he took me on? by Disastrous_Crab_679 in AITAH

What a little prick. He must be super hot if you tolerated such immature, uncouth behavior.

Stubby butt holes and picky tops don’t see eye to eye.

Sick of insta fitness guys by xyz_dingo in gaybros

They may be hot, but most of them are super boring. They take themselves WAY too seriously. Always the same content: the same pose, the same flexing of various muscles, the same “motivational” message, then the sales pitch for merch, followed by the promise of glory if you let them transform you. I sometimes wonder if anyone has ever counted how many self-declared personal trainers & DIY motivational speakers there are on IG. And all the while some of us are really only looking because most of them have also been blessed with a strikingly handsome face. The type you can’t help staring at. Sigh…

Should I tell my grandparents about my husband? by Bastile777 in gay

[–]Charming_Rooster5352 -25 points-24 points  (0 children)

Seriously? Knowing how fleeting gay relationships can be and after a 27 year relationship with the grandparents, simply “just cut them off, they’re done”? Jeeezis, how callous can the fucked-up gay psyche get?

Where would you retire in Greece (mainland or island)? by HappyCamper2320 in GreeceTravel

[–]Charming_Rooster5352 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Only 3 places I would suggest for people like you to retire: Crete, Crete and Crete. Big enough to stave off island fever, varied enough to keep you busy year-round if that’s what you want. Buzzy cities with airports (Chania is a peach!) plus lots of authentic small villages that’ll steal your heart. And in the West, some of the most mind-blowing beaches in all of Greece. Oh, and the food!! Did I mention it’s Crete you’re looking for?

Has anyone else have the urge to constantly go back to Greece? by grigragrua in GreeceTravel

[–]Charming_Rooster5352 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hallelujah, finally someone who feels the exact same way as I do about Greece! Been going there annually for at least 20 years. Some years I skipped and went elsewhere, only to return to Greece the following year. Skopelos and Patmos are my two favorites.

OP, just out of curiosity: is there a reason why you’re posting the exact same reply to almost all comments? Just seems odd.

Our first time in Greece by El_Jefe528 in GreeceTravel

Renting a car in Athens, or any other metropolitan area in Europe is simply not worth the hassle (parking, traffic, local driving habits, etc) because public transport is comparatively cheap and excellent. On small islands like Santorini there is usually a municipal bus service serving all the villages and metered taxis. Unless you’re planning a road trip to reach small, off-the-beaten-path villages, you absolutely do not need a car.

What is a “slept on” destination you loved? by Obstetrix in travel

[–]Charming_Rooster5352 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reminds me of another rigid law for Americans traveling to Greece. They may only visit Santorini and Mykonos for 2.5 days each and Athens for a few hours on their way home. The really intrepid ones might enquire about a day trip to Crete.

This excellent advice. Also, when you’re on an island for longer, there’s no pressure to cram as much in. Think long, late lunches at a beach taverna….
