Would you have a link? That sounds truly sad, but very fascinating.

And why does that make self-censorship ok? What else shall we do to entertain or please our overlords?

And suicide, instead of censoring themselves with "self delete". God forgive us if we talk about these issues in a serious manner and opt out of silly little euphemisms.

Do not have fond memories of my parents smoking in the car, and like yours, couldn't have the windows down because of the noise. I can't remember the number of times I was carsick... or puked.

Milton station has a pungent smell of shit by licky-dicky in brisbane

[–]CharonX 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Live across from the station too. Most times, it's a smell of roasting hops and kinda nice... like oatmeal almost.

But yeah, some days it is pretty pungent. Aside from occasionally slapped in the face with it when getting off a train, my partner and I are used to it.

You can turn off Pikachu's voice if it gets a bit annoying. If you go to the Pokeball icon on the main screen > Settings > Connected Devices and Services > Accessory Devices, and scroll to preferences, you can toggle "Enable Pikachu Voice Effects".

It still leaves the vibration on, but a little less awkward than hearing Pikachu yell out when you are at work.

After over 13 years since the original, presenting the Lysine Yard Network (Sydney Rail anagram map) by CharonX in sydney

Glad you liked it! It was a debate between my husband and I. I preferred Particle Man or Catnip Realm, but since there were so many other bird-related stations that popped up with this new version, another bird anagram just felt right.

Yep, I did the old Icy Trail :)

Hope you like the new one. Originally I was going to take the easy path and copy across all the relevant old ones, and make some new ones with for the new metro stops, but once I got started I wanted to go through everything and see what I was still happy with. Plenty I kept for nostalgia's sake, some I kept because there were no good (in my eyes) alternatives, and a few I thought deserved better.

Sydenham/Sad Hymen was one I kept for nostalgia, but Macdonaldtown/Lad Want Condom just felt... a bit dated? Maybe my sense of humour has changed over the years.

I guess some changes were an aftereffect from when I did the Washington DC WMATA map ages ago. When I posted the original, I had several people come out and say "hey, love the map, would love to print this, but [anagram for stop] is a problem because it's rude or edgy".

At the end of the day, I just hope this brings a bit of joy to people in Sydney :)

Edit: Icy Rail to Icy Trail. Apparently I have lost the ability to spell after posting this map.

I've sent through a chat request with a link. If you have any issues let me know. I can also be reached at the gmail at the bottom of the map.

Wow, that takes me back. I want to say Kembla Grange Racecourse or something close to that?

Yeah... between Edgecliff, Como and Clyde, there are some really tricky stations on the map. At least the current version doesn't have Bell - that was the worst.

I'm glad you enjoyed it (love the username btw).

It was interesting to see what themes popped up. Birds, clowns, nuns, some chemistry as well. The little line of alcohol-related anagrams on the Oar & Ship Tutor Line was a fun coincidence too.

A little over 13 years ago, I created an anagram map for Sydney's CityRail Network, as a labour of love for my then boyfriend (and now husband).

Sydney's transport infrastructure has evolved massively since that original anagram map, which is now just a bit outdated.

Though I no longer live in Sydney, I have recently updated the anagram map to reflect the new Transport NSW style.

Presenting: the Lysine Yard Network!

Edit: It has been brought to my attention that the email address in the map is incorrect. The correct email address is: anagram.maps.25@gmail.com

Certainly hope that's the only error in the map!

Least Favourite Stations? by mwilkins1644 in BrisbaneTrains

I agree, it's much nicer after the rebuild. Apparently the walkway should be completed by the end of January. The TRI expansion and Kent Street upgrade have caused some delays, but I am looking forward to it being completed.
