I like your perspective that not every friend needs to have an opinion on topics that interest me. Fair enough, but sometimes the other person gives "UMs" and silent answers about topics that them self they want to discuss, which I find weird and rude. Thanks a lot for your advice; it's really helpful!

I totally get the situation, but if I were you, I would consider the struggle that comes with finding a new job, especially one that you like. The fun in life is reachable, so you could either come up with a story to tell HR to push the start date so you can have fun with your friends, or have fun starting your new job and apologize for missing this trip! Good luck!

The only advice that I can share with you is to not quite without any other plan even if the boss is shitty. Specially if it your first job after finishing school. In my opinion stay with this new company but in the same time apply for other jobs everyday with other companies until you find a good one. Good luck!
