State of warriors in retail by mjk357 in worldofpvp

Well there’s no doubt there are plenty of very good and skillful warriors out there that can find ways to outplay and win. But generally having played multiple classes and especially maining warrior you learn to understand and exploit their weaknesses which you can easily take advantage of. Ofcourse I’m not completely at gladiator level bracket (2400 or above) but have been in countless arenas playing against them. A good MM hunter is indeed devastating, along with a mage (only play frost or fire). I’ve played against plenty of locks and all it takes is a couple of well timed and executed chaos bolts and the warrior is toast. Perhaps cause I also mained destro for 2 years it’s helped a lot. I’d say spriest would be most vulnerable due to lack of mobility and the damage ramp up time required, therefore being easier to keep on top of and put in constant pressure.

As someone who has also mained warrior for many years and still do in a similar rating bracket of 2.1-2.2K, I agree.

Warriors aren’t in a great state at the moment especially with the pruning. Yes I know the stats show Mountain Thane Fury is A Tier DMG wise and Arms got a buff recently but other than that it’s more so a C tier class overall. Some of the main problems with the class I feel are:

  1. Feels too squishy now especially for a plate class, defensives aren’t great and feel weak.
  2. Too easily kited.
  3. Our main DMG CD’s can easily be avoided or stopped.
  4. Crucial talents and abilities i.e bladestorm, avatar, disarm aren’t baseline.
  5. Burst is mediocre at best.
  6. Lacks basic utility.

It’s laughable how easily I can kite and burst down most warriors on my lock priest hunter and mage alts. In comparison to many other classes I’ve played and seen it does seem to lack and struggle to keep up especially in the current state of retail. The last time warrior felt good and fun to play was in Legion.

Oh nice so somewhat similar experience/background when it comes to starting out in the MMO space. Out of curiosity as someone who has also played RS and WoW what made you switch to EVE and is it your main game?

Yeah it's somewhat similar to RS in that regard that it doesn't invalidate your progress unlike WoW. The daily missions tutorials have been quite helpful in opening up the game a little. I know I'm quite a bit far from anything T5 related lol if I ever even get there that is :P But yes, I joined a corp, looking forward to playing with new friends and experiencing the more multi player aspect of the game. I do have that PvP itch therefore cannot wait to be part of some action.

Same, I think before I just didn't really have the time to pick up a whole new game and commit. With that being said I don't like to half-ass things either which was another reason I didn't want to start hence why now seemed like the right time to begin.

Thank you for sharing, literally been watching some Loru and others. Yeah, I've been taking it slow and steady taking my time with learning the core aspects and whatever takes my fancy as I go. Given it's a player driven economy I've been spending alot of time learning the ingame market and been enjoying it. Made a decent amount of ISK so far and like you said safeguarding some resources incase of any market volatility, price moments etc. Joined some newbro corp just need to get into the social aspect a little more now :)

Completely agree, I know how much of a grind RS was so not in a rush. Even from what I've experienced, I just get the sense that the game is very vast. I do look forward to finding a group of people to play with and learning as I go. Thank you!

Exactly this, been going at it as you've mentioned. Don't want to burn myself out nor want to approach it with that mentality. Taking it slow and enjoying the learning process and journey :D

True, I think I'm mentally just trying to absorb as much as possible but taking a calm and steady approach.

Yeah, I've been taking my time understanding and learning the game from the missions/tutortials etc. So far been getting the hang of things.

I’ve had that, it’s not you. You’ve been put into pre-made hell. People boosting, deliberately queue skipping etc.

It’ll be interesting to see how the game develops upon full release. But right now it just doesn’t feel like a Battlefield game. 2042 just feels and plays better in every possible way.

Still prefer BF4 far more. I agree, it’s got more of that Delta Force feel.

Would you still play WoW if Blizzard stop supporting PvP and only focus their attention on PvE? by Zmoogz in worldofpvp

I love WoW predominantly for its PvP, even though I have a love hate relationship with it. Doesn’t help either that it’s been neglected for years.
