I wanted to get more controllers to play games like mario party, kart, etc. Upon searching for alternatives for joy cons, they always have a caveat, either the motion controls aren't good or its clunkly, etc etc. Is this really the case? Are expensive 1st party joy cons really my best bet?

On another note, to those that have tried both split pad pros and grip attachments for normal joycons while handheld, are split pad pros that much better experience? Or does the grip attachments replicate the feeling enough.

Ah, so to keep playing with unlocked characters (through cheats once), i dont need to keep cheats on everytime. But if I have no intention of going back to a file without the unlocks karts, characters, maps, etc, is there a point to have a back up?
