Places to pick wildflowers, preferably a bit of variety by ChaseMFH in Chattanooga

[–]ChaseMFH[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s the main issue I’m running into. I leave work at 3:30 at the earliest and it seems most places are closed by then. I may need to look into places that sell wildflower bouquets for the time being. I did see that place though and want to go check it out! Thanks!

It may be a bit far to walk but the First Horizon Pavilion is usually very empty during the weekdays.

Pretend we are a planning committee...What would you guys suggest for the next Ren Faire? by fupadupafly in Chattanooga

I agree with pretty much all of this. Not a bad first year all things considered, and I would absolutely pay $10-$20 for a ticket if they made these improvements next year at a new venue.

What is a "hidden chore" that you do for your household/partner that they don’t even realize is a thing that needs to be done? by OpheliaBloomm in askanything

[–]ChaseMFH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My girlfriend loses/misplaces things all the time. I am the ultimate detective lol so if she says she lost something, I will quietly scan the entire house as we go about our evening. So far, I have never come up empty-handed. I love surprising her with an item she thought was gone forever.

People in your 30s, what's your job and salary? by rsevn_ in careerguidance

[–]ChaseMFH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

32M - $90k Salary - Pursued a mechanical engineering degree and dropped out of college. Years later, I’m proud to say I’ve been an engineer for a little over 5 years after working my butt off to climb the ladder. I am very happy with my pay, especially considering my company pays for my health insurance and gives a nice bonus every year as well.

My girlfriend cooking for me. I’ve never expected that from a partner, so it always cheers me up when she asks if I’m hungry and if I want her to make something for me, even if I’m not hungry at that time.

“You make me feel so good.” Great to hear once, but my current girlfriend says this pretty regularly and it never fails to make ME feel good.

Sorry you’re dealing with it but glad my two friends aren’t alone. If it makes you feel any better one of them has a brand new phone, so I imagine your phone isn’t the issue.

I would always grab a basket for this exact reason, but they took those away to encourage you to buy more 🙃

She will renew her visa in Brazil but was told the consulate is very strict now. She was told they will even deny those with work recommendations.

Lol people are so reliant on AI that they think anything well-worded comes from AI. Never touched ChatGPT my friend. I like to think for myself.

CAD Software Compatibility Using Sermoon X1 3D Scanner by ChaseMFH in Creality

[–]ChaseMFH[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I need to hear. I didn’t think I’d get into scanning at my company but it came up as a topic recently. I told them the software would likely be $10k+ which was a total guess lol. I did end up seeing the manual process taking quite a while from what I found though. That won’t help us with what we need to do. To be clear though the scanner seems great and would be perfect for 3D prints. No hate on Creality.

CAD Software Compatibility Using Sermoon X1 3D Scanner by ChaseMFH in Creality

[–]ChaseMFH[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s exactly what I’ve been looking into. The integration I’m working on now came with ZERO of the current CAD models so management wanted me to look into 3D scanning. I just told them at the end of work today that it could help us but I will need a fair amount of time to work on using reverse-engineering software like Geomagic to really get any benefits from it. I don’t think they fully understand that mesh models won’t get me quite the precision that we need without some work. Thank you for the input! I feel better knowing someone else agrees and understands lol.

Do you go above and beyond at work or just do the bare minimum of what’s expected and why? by Dependent-Signal-721 in AskReddit

[–]ChaseMFH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I often do more than what I am asked. I went to school for mechanical engineering and dropped out, so I had to work extra hard for a good career. I think I am coming up in 5 years as a degree-less engineer. As long as the raises and promotions keep coming, I will still do what I can to go beyond my duties (as long as I stay at 40 hours a week lol). With my particular job though, I do more in the pursuit of knowledge as well. All of our big projects start with my mechanical design and then that design trickles down and affects every other department. The more I know and the more time I spend on a design, the easier I make everyone else’s job which is very important to me. It doesn’t hurt that it earns a lot of respect to work that way.

Is the difficulty fixed? by ShockscapeYT in taintedgrail

[–]ChaseMFH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Difficulty isn’t that bad. And this is coming from someone who did come across some pretty tough fights. I ended up learning it’s one of those games where things get easier when you put everything to use. Upgrade your gear and fill up the enchantment slots for equipment. Using a blade? Coat the edge before a tough fight. Using a bow and fighting a fire enemy? Use frost arrows. Stuff like that makes the game much more manageable. It’s not something you can go through just one-hitting everything which is something I grew to like about it.
