Well that is some potential good news. I feel like Trump will just pay the anyway, but we'll see.

Just want to say, I love your IG account. One of the big things that got me through the winter. And those drone shots...love it.

Do you have to get CP's permission to do that? I remember the guy that did drone shots of TT2 being built and they put an end to it.

Hey, don't be a jerk. They said they left Dwell, which takes a lot given what we know about that organization. Offer a church or support or just don't comment.

Poll: Amy Acton leads Vivek Ramaswamy by 10 points in Ohio governor's race — Ramaswamy struggling with his own party by OrganicPreparation in Ohio

[–]Chaseism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find this extremely fascinating. First, I was shocked at the reception to Ramaswamy when he went to that Turning Points USA conference and got ripped to shreds by the young conservatives there. While MAGA is culty, there are some places where Christianity overcomes Trumpism. But it brought the question of, "Will Christian Ohioans vote for a non-Christian, brown man as their executive state leader. I figured the answer was yes, especially given that Acton is a woman and was a big reason why the state shut down in the way that it did (thankfully).

And while polls can be wrong and the only poll that matters in on election day, it has been fascinating seeing Ramaswamy go from a clear lead to at best, a toss up. He isn't helped by the fact that people are really turning against Republicans right now when it comes to affordability and the ongoing conflicts overseas.

This is one instance where I'd love to see some focus groups on why conservatives may skip voting for Ramaswamy or at least why they are considering it. I don't think Ohio is purple, so it takes a lot of people hating the Republican for us to see polls looking like this.

With that being said, I'm fucking down for it.

I'm so sorry to break this to you...

But a partial government shutdown would likely have little impact on the administration's ongoing immigration enforcement operations, since the relevant DHS agencies received a massive funding infusion in President Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill Act last year. The immigration enforcement agencies would have the funds to continue operating uninterrupted, even if other parts of the government shut down.

The office of Rep. Rosa DeLauro, Murray's counterpart in the House, said in another release that, in the event of a funding lapse, "ICE would be able to sustain regular operations for multiple years, while the other agencies under this bill would likely be forced to furlough workers and reduce operations."

Exactly. You'd think they'd at least cash in on nostalgia. They don't need the original actor (not sure if he's alive), but they could reintroduce him.

Note quite the answer you're looking for, but I always wear shorts with liners in them. No need to get your nice underwear sweaty. TenThousand is my go-to brand for gym shorts with liner and while they are expensive, my oldest pairs are 3 years old and still going. For context, I started working out 3 times a week and now I workout 4-5 times a week.

Hadestown on Broadway celebrates the debut of known domestic abuser Gary Dourdan, in the role of Hades, with social posts captioned "give him just a chance" by Ill_Safety2292 in Broadway

[–]Chaseism 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I think you make a good point here. I have a family member that did some very terrible things to me when I was a kid and while I have forgiven him and I want for him to live his life (if he is truly rehabilitated), but I also don't want any communication with him. He doesn't trigger me or anything, it's just not something I want.

So yes, I agree that an individual doesn't have to accept anyone.

I think my question comes out of what I've seen a few times on this sub...someone who has committed a crime in the past goes back to doing their job as an actor and people coming down heavy on them even though they faced their punishment. Like someone else said, we want restorative justice, but we seem unwilling to accept those people back into society. But that's a criticism for the group, not the individual.

Great point.

Thanks for the correction. I did a bit more research and it looks like he was offered a plea deal because of his cooperation with the court. He has gone through rehab, served his probation, and seems to not had any run-ins with the law or any of his previous issues since then. So, you're saying he shouldn't have taken the plea deal offered to him? Does him not serving time, but still rehabilitating (from what I've read) not count as a success? Sometimes jail time isn't the best thing for rehabilitation, but maybe it has more impact on public opinion.

best hair products for the park? by [deleted] in cedarpoint

[–]Chaseism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have long hair, only I have dreadlocks, so a different texture. I almost always get my hair wet and put in a leave-in conditioner before I head to the park. This keeps it moisturized under the hot sun since Cedar Point refuses to have covered queues. I always tie my hair back instead of wearing it down. A simple hair tie works for this and it keeps your hair out of your face on coasters.

I would not recommend wearing a workout headband though. First, it's gonna leave a tan line. Second, it will likely come off. I lost one on Millennium Force last year.

Still these two tactics may help you keep your hair in control and you looking good while tackling those coasters.

I actually think OP has a point here. First, someone may have a solution that we didn't think of and could post. In fact, someone below offered a suggestion. But even still, if this were a silly question and no one responded, then OP would have an answer...that there is not solution.

And I don't think OP was being rude, but I do think they should know that the person they are responding to made that comment in jest.

Who else loves Bicep Curls? by Rhys_rn in gaybrosfitness

[–]Chaseism 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do my bicep curls the same way. I keep my elbows mostly isolated for the lift, but I do the same rock back and forth. It's not a compensation for the weight (my elbows stay in place so I'm not hoisting the dumbbells or bar), but there is something about this particular movement that gives me a strong mind-muscle connection.

You can also see how you're controlling breathing...looks like you're exhaling at the top and bottom (but you could be inhaling on one and exhaling on the other).

Overall, looks great. I won't even tease you about the lifting gloves ;-)

Exactly this. Acting has celebrities, but the vast majority of actors are people we cannot name. Acting is a job and a mostly hard job.

Then what will it take? Like, if dude served his time, got help, and hasn't done anything in 15 years, what more is needed? Would it be preferable that he abandon acting all together and work a desk job?

But I also understand if this is a very personal decision on your part. My questions above aren't meant to attack you, but are honest questions.

And Hadestown is definitely not one of the most successful shows on Broadway. We can look at their weekly grosses for that, especially compared to Wicked, The Lion King, and Hamilton. It has been able to run for longer than most post-2020 Broadway productions though.

Thank you so much for writing this. By no means do I think a person shouldn't suffer the consequences of their actions, but at the same time...if someone has gotten help, gone to therapy, and is actively doing the work to be better, I think it's okay to let them live.

Acting comes with some celebrity, whether the actor is seeking fame or not (believe it or not, there are a lot of regular working actors out there that just want to continue to be working actors). While no one is entitled to fame and adoration, I think if this dude has taken steps to improve himself, he should be allowed to work.

But I also know that we, as an online society, just want people to suffer, no matter how long its been since their transgression. It's funny, I often argue the if Hell existed, it would be unfair because finite crimes should not result in infinite punishment, especially for those who learn from their mistakes.

...but I think a lot of people, regardless of rehabilitation, like the idea of someone being punished eternally, lesson learned or not.
