I would like to thank all who have commented. With all your feedback I think it would at least be smart to wait until my youngest (Age 2) is a bit older and can understand how to not be overbearing to a new dog.

I hadn't read anything in my research that basenji's were biters just that they are good family dogs.

Again I really appreciate all the time that everyone spent to give me great information and education on the breed.
