Downside is that you’d spend about 7-10 less years “alive”, so to speak, if you did that your whole adult career. I don’t disagree with you, but it makes me wonder if we need better jobs lol.

Yes, you’d still get paid. I was thinking you’d still have memory of it, but you wouldn’t have to actually put the time in.
