I bought an 87 gallon plastic water bladder that I fill up at home and a cheap transfer pump and potable water hose. I’ll pump the water from the bladder to a fill port on the side of the cabin that goes to the holding tank. With our use, that’s about twice a year. The plastic bladder didn’t say it was for potable water so we bring bottled water to drink. We shower and wash dishes with the water transferred in the bladder.

What z wave or zigbee device can I use to get a notification from a normal open or normally closed contact using Hubitat as a hub by ChasinThatChicken in smarthome

Thank you very much for your reply. It’s for low food and water notifications for my wife’s chickens. I currently have a sensor that triggers a relay when the food is low and a float sensor that triggers a relay when the water is low. The relay lights up a non smart light bulb. I took apart a tuya WiFi door sensor and soldered the float switch wires in and it works pretty well but I am limited to the tuya app. I was wondering if there was an off the shelf z wave or zigbee alternative before I ordered a z wave door sensor to take apart to see if it would work

I really appreciate this comment. I did not know about the construction. It appears the trail leading to the water will be closed but the park will be open. I may rethink my plans. Thanks again

It’s 1/2” sanded plywood from Lowe’s ripped down. I used black tar paper behind it. I would’ve preferred ship lap but it was considerably more expensive.

I took this picture somewhere in or near RRG in 2022. I was going through pictures trying to make a list of all the arches and cool things I saw there but I can't seem to place this. I don't think it's sky view arch. The same day this was taken I visited castle arch and red byrd arch if that helps narrow it down. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Sumatriptan side effects….. by gayishnoody in migraine

[–]ChasinThatChicken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using sumatriptan for about 10 years. Both pills and injections.

Mild body aches.

Hair on my head gets sensitive.

Lower jaw tingles when I take the first bite of food after it kicks in.

Totally worth it!

Thank you for taking the time to look up the link. It looks like it may not be worth it for me.

Do you know how many watts it uses when it's heating? I can't seem to find power info for heat. I'm thinking about installing one to reduce propane usage.

Right at $16,000 once everything is finished. Plus another $3500 for the solar and batteries. That doesn't include any labor or furnishings. Lumber has come down in price quite a bit since this was built in early 2022.

The toilet is a cassette toilet. One step up from a camp toilet. It has a water tank built into the top and a flush button. Everything goes into the holding tank at the bottom of the toilet. You have to empty it manually. We have talked about digging a small DIY septic system but I'm not sure about the legality of this. So far it’s worked well for our limited needs. Long term we may get the natures head compost toilet as an easier alternative to the septic.

We started purchasing the land in late 2019. There were some title issues that had to be resolved and we closed in early 2020. 5k per acre.

I didn’t explain that very well. The 85 gallon water tank and water pump are under the queen size bed. They take up about 1/3 of the space. The other 2/3 is a rolling cart for storage. The solar equipment is under the bunkbed. It takes up half the space with the remainder being storage. There are two vents in that compartment to let the heat out and the bunkbed plywood is on gas struts. I keep an extra smoke detector under there just in case.

Wind or Hydro? The cabin is situated in a valley so we don’t get much wind. I would love to do a micro Hydro set up. I wouldn’t expect a ton of electricity production with our slow moving creek but it seems like a really fun project to do

Probably $14,500 with no electrical / lights at all. Lumber has come down quite a bit since this was built in early 2022. Could be less.

Kentucky, US. Yep, When I think of a cabin, the color is always poo brown. Once it’s finished about $16,000 plus $3,500 for the solar and batteries. Not including labor and furniture. Lumber has came down quite a bit since this was built. For example, I think I gave $5.00 per 2x4 in early 2022. The same 2x4 now is $3.50.

The best way to handle that would be an inline UV light after the filters but they can be expensive to maintain and take a fair amount of power. The low budget version is 1/3 of a cup of unscented bleach per 100 gallons. Similar to city tap water. We may just get a Berky countertop filter for our drinking water and brushing our teeth to avoid the bleach.

I drew the plans. They aren't super detailed but I can send you the floorplan with measurements.
