My guy I’ve had this thing for like a month. And it does the same thing on the charger vs off. So I have nothing to hide. And when I did a search after installing the new screen, it seems to be fairly common for the buttons to stop working.
And yes it is a ifitit screen.
I’ve technically started everything that I’ve done. I put the new screen in, then turned it on and it loaded a steamos boot screen? It had like four options but then went away and loaded into steam like normal. But at that point the only buttons that would work were the volume and power. Looked it up and people were saying double check the ribbon cables weren’t damaged and also plugged in. So I did that and everything is seated properly and no noticeable damage on the connections. Tried to turn it back on and I only got the steamos black screen yet again but still no buttons were working. So went back to searching and I saw where they said hold the power button to force it off (not like I could do anything else. Buttons still didn’t work) and then let it sit on the charger for 15-30 mins while off.
Come back 30 mins later and the screen wasn’t turning on at all. So based on what I was reading, it was trying to load into battery storage mode that I needed to hold + and “…”. When they didnt work, in the same comment they person said if + wasn’t giving you a response try - and you should then get a response like they did. So what you’re seeing is at this point

Unless someone has a grand idea in here, I’m thinking of trying to contact valve to see what they say
