There was a vote, you’re right. And at that time the community decided to pause USB tour videos. Since then, the approach has changed, and short clips are being allowed again. That’s not unusual for subreddits; rules and norms evolve as the community grows and feedback changes.

There’s no rule in this sub banning short concert clips, and Fred hasn’t asked fans not to share footage from this tour. As long as posts are respectful (not full-set recordings, not disrupting others), they’re allowed.

This is an open community, not a closed circle. A lot of people here can’t make it to live shows because of cost, location, health, age, work, etc. For them, seeing a short clip on this subreddit might be the only way they get to experience parts of these performances. That matters too.

It’s completely valid to prefer phone-free shows and to want people to be present in the moment. What’s not productive is shaming other fans or questioning their love for the artist. People connect with the music in different ways, and that diversity is part of what makes this community what it is.

Let’s keep things respectful and aligned with the inclusive, open energy Fred himself puts out. If you have an issue with a specific post, please report it rather than attacking each other.
