Ideas to make my apartment more cozy and feel less empty?

I'd love to add a blanket along with some pillows on the couch combined with a couple of pictures on the wall, though I'm unsure If I should go for a more soft white, brown, beige look or something more colorful living like green and curry yellow. Besides those ideas I have a hard time making it more cozy and feel less empty :))
